Skincare 101 - Fruits for the Skin

Sometimes, you should take a break from all chemicals that can be found in your skin care products.  Try to go organic!  If you're not used to eating fruits, why not let your skin do that instead?



I want to share today some fruits that can make your skin glow from the inside.  Good thing here is that, you can achieve clear complexion while enjoying a refreshing smoothie that you can also make out of them.  Yummo!


Banana

Can work as an anti-aging agent.  Try to mash and use it as a mask.


Lemon

We all know that Vitamin C is good for the skin.  Lemon also has astringent properties that can lessen the appearance of acne scars.  You can add sugar and use it as a facial scrub.


Papaya

The all-time skin whitener.  Aside from eating, you can mash this and directly apply on your skin.

Strawberry

Say goodbye to wrinkles!  You can also prevent having them by doing a strawberry scrub.  It produces collagen that improves skin elasticity.


Grapes

Can work as a great exfoliator and cleanser.


Blueberries

Very rich in anti-oxidants that prevent skin damage.  


Kiwi

Ensures clear skin. A kiwi scrub fights blemishes and uneven skin tone.



Apple

A very good moisturizer.  It keeps your skin hydrated.


You can experiment and create your own DIY such as scrub, mask or cleanser by adding other helpful ingredients that can be found in the kitchen.  Try honey, oatmeal, extra virgin olive oil, sugar, yogurt, etc.  If it doesn't turn out right, just eat it.  HAHA!

And here's another tip, instead of soft drinks, go for fruit juice instead.  It also contains sugar, but consider the benefits too.  If you can also replace your bag of chips with fruits, that's a better option.  And remember, your skin will surely thank you for it.
