Menow Kissproof Lip Crayons | Review + Swatches

by - December 05, 2016

Taking a break from the haul and travel videos.  I tried something new and it was so much fun!  Although, I think my lips were begging me to leave them alone.  Haha!

I purchased 4 Menow Kissproof lip crayons and I thought why not film a video for them instead of doing my usual lipstick review.  These have been talk-of-the-town recently because of the great pigmentation and since they are so affordable, it's not that hard to shell out money for a handful of them.

To be honest, I was on the fence of buying them at first because I was not sure if the ingredients are safe.  Actually, I am still uncertain at this point.  Another thing that made me feel suspicious about the product is the fact that it is not locally approved by FDA.  They even released their official advisory - click here.

Anyway, I still gave it a chance and good thing, I did not encounter anything scary after using them a couple of times.

I got these for 300 php - 75 each.  Really cheap, huh?

I forgot to mention this in the video - I like how they made the cap also matte and surprisingly, each of them matches the actual color of the lipstick.

The shade variety is a bit overwhelming but I was still able to narrow my choices down.  I wanted two nudes and two darker colors.

One thing I also noticed about the lipstick bullet is that, it tends to be overly creamy and soft so it's easy to break.

It's also easy to sharpen these babies.

Similar with any other lip crayons, these can double up as a lip liner.

I've already shared my review in the video so I won't repeat myself and just show you more photos.  In case you're wondering why my look here is different, these were taken on a different day.  Even with a simpler eye makeup, the colors still look good.

I didn't find exact dupes from my current collection so what I tried to compare them with are those ones that are in the same color family or you know, anything close.  Haha!

Let's start with #5 - a peachy brown nude and a perfect MLBB shade.

As you can see, Maybelline Touch of Spice (post coming up soon) is more mauve.

It's my first time to rock a lip color like this and I'm loving it!

Next is #12 - a berry or plum-ish shade.  It is less dry-looking than #5 but it gives me a hard time doing an even application.

I think it's a darker and bolder verion of EM Cosmetics lipstick in Posh.

#15 is another nude shade but it's more on the pink side.  I thought it's going to be too light on me but it's not.

It's more cool toned compared to L.A. Girl's Dreamy.

Last shade is #16 - a bright, almost neon watermelon pink.

No swatch comparison because I don't have too much pinks in my lipstick collection.

So that's all!  Which one do you like the most?  If you ask me, I'm really impressed by the nudes.  I think they go well with the powdery matte finish.

Next up is another travel vlog.  I plan to finish it as soon as possible so I can already film a new makeup video.
