Skin Care 101 - Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner

by - May 29, 2014

Here's my current toner.  And yes, Neutrogena is on my blog again.  Is it your drugstore favorite too?  Anyway, let me share a quick review.

So, why did I pick this?  Actually, not sure.  I was looking for a "temporary toner" because the one I really want which is Skinfood's Steam Milk Essence Mist was no longer on sale that time.  I bought this at 339.75 php.  Not bad right?  It's 200 ml already.

It's basically a toner that targets blackheads and minimizes pores.  Some of the labels are in Chinese so I can't explain it for you.  HAHA!

This one is a member of the Deep Clean line.  There's also a facial oil cleanser, facial scrub and more.

The bottle looks nice and very "Neutrogena".  I haven't experienced any spills as well, so it's safe to bring anywhere.

The product description also states that it can help prevent new blackheads from forming.  The formula is called BHA.  It removes dead skin cells and also controls excessive oil.

This toner is oil-free and contains salicylic acid (0.5%) and benzoic acid too - good for acne treatment.

What I love about it:

  • Removes makeup residues
  • Cleanses well
  • Leaves a cooling sensation right away
  • Doesn't leave a "botox-tight" feeling
  • Not drying
  • Targets pores and blackheads
  • Affordable
  • Dries fast
  • Cleanses well
  • Suitable for oily skin
  • No breakouts/irritation

Watch-outs:

  • Might irritate the eyes
  • Scent is a bit strong (like alcohol)
  • I can't feel the oil-control properties
I did not use a makeup remover here.

In terms of pore size and blackheads removal, I can't still say that it's 100% effective.  It's hard to tell, really.

Overall, I think this one's a nice drugstore toner to try.  Maybe when the weather here in Manila gets better, it would be more effective. :)
