Make Up And Hair (MUAH) - Made by David Organics Dry Shampoo

by - July 17, 2014

I won't be surprised if the term "dry shampoo" sounds very new (and odd) to you.  I got super intrigued too, actually.  I'd understand if the idea of not washing your hair even just for one day kinda grosses you out a little.  HAHA!  So today, let me introduce to you an unsung hair-o.

Here's Made By David Organic's version of dry shampoo.  Price is around 250 php for a 120 ml bottle.  This local brand is known for it's all-natural, cruelty-free and hand-crafted hair care, bath and body and skin care products.

This one comes in powder form which obviously, can be a bit messy in terms of application.  Majority of them comes in spray and I'd prefer that for convenience.

Now, for sure you want to ask these questions.  What's the benefit of dry shampoo?  Why should I use it?  Is it alright to stop washing my hair everyday?

Alright, first things first - our scalp produces oil too.  This sebum weighs our hair down and most of the time, makes our hair greasy.  We all know that our hair absorbs dirt too especially when we're outside.  So, that's the time when we'll need some washing.

Fans of dry shampoo use the product for this one apparent benefit.  It saves them a lot of time compared to washing and drying their hair.  Well, I personally like that as a bonus point.  The main reason why I use this is because of the volume it gives.  Secondly, it doesn't dry my hair out and most importantly, it's the ultimate solution to my hair-fall problem.

Truth is, my hair is more manageable with dry shampoo on.  I can really tell the difference.  But I have to clear up one thing, it's not a substitute for your regular shampoo.  It basically just sops up the excess sebum while adding volume and scent too.

The powder looks normal but I noticed some tiny particles (similar to iodized salt) when I rub it between my fingers.

The scent?  I love it!  It definitely smells like orange & vanilla.  And the best part is, it lasts throughout the day!

This is my first time to try dry shampoo and I'm happy with this brand.  I think this will last several months considering that I only use it once or twice a week.

If you're still not satisfied, make sure to check out part 2 of this post.  I'll show you the before and after photos.  I'll also share some tips and instructions on how to use it.  :)
