Make Up And Hair (MUAH) - Etude House Dear Darling Tint in Berry Red

by - February 04, 2015

As mentioned in my previous Korean cosmetics haul post, I was one of the 50 lucky winners of an online giveaway and I got a free lip tint because of that.  Yea!  I was actually hoping to get the Clio Lipnicure, but I was picked for the Etude House Dear Darling prize instead.  No complaints though.  I love this tint and let me tell you why.

Locally, you can buy this at 248 php and you can choose from 4 shades.  This one's called Berry Red.  The other 3 are named Real Red, Orange Red and Vampire Red.

Application

It comes with a slanted doe-foot applicator.  The tube packaging itself is very common, but I still like it.

It's also very easy to control because even though I let it on for a minute without blending it yet, it doesn't leave a harsh stain.

Color

Here's the swatch.  Unlike Tony Moly Delight in Cherry Pink, Etude House Dear Darling Berry Red is lighter with hints of pink.

It is also not as pigmented as Delight but color payoff is still good enough.  As you can see, left side is very saturated.  When it dries, it stains the skin/lips like crazy.

By the way, for these photos, I put on lip balm prior and topped it off with a little bit of concealer, just to show you the real color of the product better.

It still pops while looking very natural.

For the cheeks, I applied a thin layer of powder on top.  It looks very subtle yet it makes a huge difference.  My face looks more awake.

Texture

It's more of a gel than liquid.  There's a slight thickness, but it still blends very smoothly.  I find it easier to blend compared to my Delight Tony Tint.

When using it as a cheek tint, it doesn't give me any problem because it's very forgiving.  It's easy to make an even application.

Formula

It smells like a fruity lollipop.  Love it.

Everytime I use Dear Darling, my lips become chapped after a few hours, but nothing scary.  Again, it's common for tints to be a little harsh on the lips, so don't forget your lip balm.

Longevity

Lasting power is average.  Color fades after drinking or eating, but lips will still have some stain.  As for the cheeks, it wears off faster especially if I re-apply powder.

I'm in love with Dear Darling!  Even though it's not as intense as my other lip tint which is Delight Tony, I think the formula is better.

It's perfect to pair with a fresh and natural makeup look.

  1. Product is a lovely color. It is nice and light as described. It is not sticky like some mattes can be. It doesn't fully dry down, so you know it is still there. Recommend!
