Skin Care 101 - Bifesta Bright Up Cleansing Lotion

by - January 09, 2016

It's time for the product reviews to pour in!

First off is my current makeup remover by Bifesta, a Japanese brand.  This guy is probably very familiar to most of you because I heard it's one of the best in the drugstore world.

I remember reading a post before saying that this one's a dupe for the Bioderma's micellar water, which in case you don't know, is quite expensive.

Well, I haven't tried anything from that brand so I can't say if that's true or not.  However, if you're looking for a very affordable makeup remover, this one's the first product I'd recommend.

The label says it's a cleansing lotion but I think cleansing water is more appropriate.  Why?  Because it literally looks and feels like water!  I know.  Crazy!

The other variants available locally are Sebum, Moist and Enrich.  I assume you know which one's to get based on your skin type just by the names.

I chose Bright Up and I got it for only 419 php for a 300ml bottle.  I bought it back in September and there's still more than half of it remaining.  Maybe if you wear heavy makeup or waterproof products frequently, it could last up to 3 months or so.

What I like about it

- pump quality is normal but it doesn't cause leaks
- no-rub! (just leave your soaked cotton pads on your eyes for a few seconds and dab it gently)
- it's not fragrance-free but scent is almost unnoticeable
- removes makeup (even waterproof ones), dirt, oil and grime very well
- does not leave greasy surface because it's oil-free
- not overdrying (no tightness)
- feels gentle on skin
- does not break me out
- does not cause irritations or itchiness
- you can even re-apply makeup after (in case you had a boo-boo and you needed to re-do your makeup)

All gone!

I used my waterproof eyeliner here.  If it's hard to remove the product in between the lashes, use cotton swabs.  As you can see, there are some traces left but at this level of cleansing, it's already great for me.

Overall, I don't have anything negative to say about this amazing makeup remover by Bifesta.  No wonder, a lot of people have raved about it.  It really does it job and it's not too kind to stubborn waterproof makeup.  Haha!  Though I don't recommend using it as your toner or moisturizer even though it's like a 3-in-1 product.

Whenever I use this, it feels like I washed my face.  Unbelievable.

But of course, you know, I still do the actual cleansing.  And as I have shown you in my nighttime skincare routine video, if I don't have heavy eye makeup, I wash my face first and get rid of the residues afterwards.  Basically, you just have to pick which product you want to save more - your cleanser or your makeup remover.  But either way is fine.

Looks like I won't go for other brands after finishing a bottle.  I can try one of its 3 sisters next!
