Ichi-san in Japan Part 3 | Finding Kenshin in Kyoto, Nara Deer Park and Zoo Day

by - August 01, 2016

This video came out shorter than I expected.  I thought I had more than enough clips but turned out, Kyoto adventure was not even over 5 minutes so I just added the clips taken from my zoo day.

Enjoy!

So the plan for the weekend was to go to Kyoto and go temple-hopping.  The train ride took more than 1 hour and from Rokko Island to Fushimi-Inari Taisha, we rode 3 trains.  Make sure to ride on the rapid ones to save time.

It's not a boring ride though because you can enjoy the great scenery while you're on the train.

Fare was 1100++ yen I believe.

First stop was Fushimi-Inari Taisha - the most accessible shrine from Kyoto line. Don't forget to take a photo in the tunnel-like orange thing. :)

We didn't pass all the way through because the schedule for the day was a bit tight and it's a bit crowded.

I also enjoyed checking out the food there except the restaurant that we had to endure at lunch time.  It's the old one cooking pigeons and located at the corner of a street.  Service was bad.  Food was bad.  Ugh.

Next stop, Kiyomizu-dera.

We didn't enter the temple because we planned to spend the rest of the day in Nara.

From here, we walked for about 5 minutes and reached a bus stop.  It took a good 20-30 minutes to reach JR Nara line.  The train ride took about 45 minutes to 1 hour I believe, so I had a quick nap.

I enjoyed hanging out with the deers and taking photos with them.  They're so friendly...... and hungry.  Haha!

This Kamameshi restaurant is near the deer park and it's also a famous one, so we decided to try it.

I posted a photo of our meal on my Instagram account - @chixylove.  So yummy!

Next day's adventure was a solo zoo trip.  Since I was already in Kobe and this one's near, I really put it in my itinerary.  Haha!

Entrance - 600 yen for adults

I'm crazy about pandas and I would really regret if I miss the chance.

From Sheraton Hotel, I took the Rokko line and got off to Sumiyoshi station.  I transferred to another train to reach Nada station.

It's a 15 minute morning walk and every step took me closer to my favorite furry creatures!

I didn't check out all of the animals because I only had 1 hour before hotel checkout.

I saw Ice Bear too!

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about zoos.  I'm not totally a fan because all I see are sad, caged animals.  Well, maybe there are exceptions and on the top of that list are pandas!

I think pandas made themselves endangered just to be placed in zoos and be taken care of.  Haha!

Eat.  Sleep.  Play.  Climb.  Troll.  Repeat.

But for polar bears, giraffe and others, if they're to be kept in zoos, they should be given a freaking huge space and proper care.

So that's it!

I target to finish the last part this weekend.  I still have many videos lined up for editing and I haven't filmed the haul yet.  Ugh!

Anyway, thanks for watching!  Please don't forget to hit the like and subscribe button.
