Ofra Liquid Lipsticks in Brooklyn

by - August 07, 2017

In the past months, I hoarded a handful of liquid lipsticks, but I think what I have shown you so far are my Colourpop ones.  I've tried each tube and I promise, reviews will start pouring soon.  For now, let me talk about my sole Ofra baby.

I got this back in December when I bought some during the Black Friday promo where everything was 50% off.  As usual, I tried selling the lippies first and what remained was this shade called Brooklyn.

On the site, a tube costs 20 USD and here in PH, I think it's around 850 php.  Mine is already in the newer packaging that comes with a black and green box and a metal-looking cap.

Color

Brooklyn is described as a chocolate brown shade and on some lighting, it looks like a blackened brown.  It's definitely not an everyday lip color, but something like this is still nice to have.

Formula and Finish

It's also described as a matte liquid lipstick but it doesn't completely dry down compared to Colourpop Ultra Matte, which has no shine at all.  Well, I can only speak for this shade in particular.  I'm not sure about the others.

I like the formula though.  It's creamy, smells like cupcakes, it glides on easily and it feels light on lips.  I also noticed that it's more comfortable and non-drying than most of my liquid lippies.

Application

The color payoff is pretty good but Brooklyn gets streaky.  I'd need to do two dips at least to get a 100% opaque color on my lips.  It doesn't dry fast as well and I know it could either be good or bad thing.

Lasting Power

The disappointing part is how it transfers and wears off after a meal.  Since this is a dark color, it doesn't look okay as it starts to feather.

I guess the more natural shades would be a better choice.  Besides the messy part, I think it's still worth a try because of the formula.

To make this more wearable, I'm thinking of mixing it with my most nude liquid lipstick.  I'll give it a try and I'll show it to you on my IG story soon.
