So an hour ago, I was about to start another episode of The Haunting of Hill House, because hey, it's a Saturday night and it's really hard to find a reason not to procrastinate.  However, I thought it would be a complete waste of weekend if I ever I don't get to put up something so I opted to open a new tab and finish this thing.  Binge-watching will come later. 😚

Anyhoo, here's a Peripera lip tint from their Ink Velvet line.

I've tried two other variants already from the same brand and what's remarkable as I recall is the vibrant, long-lasting color.  Then, they came up with a new formula, far from their water-based ones and I got interested to try it.

As you can see, they still used the same Peri Ink packaging.  A cute bottle right there. 😊

Color

I got the shade Celeb Deep Rose, which I thought was a mauve, old rosy color, but it turned out to be like a muted red.  I actually checked other swatches online and they seem to be different from mine.  Nevertheless, the color payoff is amazing, which is not a surprise.

Application

The doe-foot applicator it comes with has a slanted shape and in good quality.  I can easily create gradient lips or apply it fully.

Like I said, it's very pigmented so if you're going for stained lips, do only a 2 to 3 dots then blend.  I also noticed that it transfers because it takes a few minutes to dry unlike water-based/gel lip tints.  Better if you start with small amount.

I also find it very forgiving when I use it as a blush.  It gives me enough time to fully blend it out and create a nice flush of color on my cheeks.

Formula & Finish

It has a sweet candy-ish scent and the consistency is mousse-like.  It also doesn't dry down to a matte finish unless you apply only a tiny amount and go for gradient lips.

As you can see in the swatch below when I did a full lip, the finish is more on the satin side.

gradient lips

I love the velvety formula and the fact that even if it's a mousse, it still feels nothing when you have it on.

Lasting Power

The product transfers when I have it full on, but my lips would stay stained for hours even after drinking or eating.  Well, unless it's something really greasy and I have to wipe my lips rigorously.  If it's fully dried, it won't budge but there's still some fading.

I expect no less when it comes to Peripera's lasting power, but the catch is, I also have to deal with the drying part.  😬

Overall, I still find it very reliable.  It works great as a cheek tint and a lip mousse.  I just wish I had picked a more toned-down shade, but for gradient lips, it's a nice color to use.

Happy Sunday, world!

Feeling productive even though I didn't get to film as planned.  Well, I still managed to do some serious cleaning and here, I also have a new post for y'all.

Remember the batch review I did back in August featuring some of the makeup products I've been trying out?  I told you there will be a skincare version of that and here it goes.

Cosrx AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner

Cosrx is one of my favorite Korean skincare brands.  I just love how straightforward their products are.  After finishing a bottle of their Blackhead Power Liquid (loved it), I felt like I needed to try more so I got another toner.

It's pretty much a typical daily toner that exfoliates the skin because of the AHA/BHA in it and at the same time, gives hydration.

I only use it during nighttime after cleansing part because during daytime, I use my Althea Primer Water and I know products with AHA/BHA should not be used if you're going to be exposed to too much sunlight unless you use a sunscreen, of course.

Instead of soaking a cotton pad, I prefer spritzing a generous amount and then patting my face.  It feels like water, it doesn't sting, it is fast-absorbing and it's not drying at all.  I believe there's no alcohol in the ingredient list.

Comparing it to my previous bottle, I'd say I like that more.  I haven't noticed the benefits unlike before when I was using the Blackhead Power Liquid.  This one's just "meh", but for those looking for alcohol-free everyday toner, this could still work for you.

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash

This is one of the most gentle cleansers I've tried so far.  It lathers a bit (not too foamy) and it can remove grease but sadly, not makeup.  I think people who do not need to remove a lot of stuff from their face could enjoy this facial wash.

There's no scent and it doesn't make the skin too dry after use, so I think it's a good match for sensitive or dry skin.

The Saem Eco Earth Power Pink Sun Screen (440 php)

My non-negotiable when choosing a sunscreen is that, it should not be greasy.  For a greasy gal like me, the last thing I'd need is a product that would just create another oily mess on my face.

That's why I'm so happy I did find another sunscreen that not only isn't creating like a film of oil, but also feels like a normal moisturizer.  Another huge bonus is that, it doesn't give me those tiny bumps that I usually get when trying out sunscreens.  Perfection. 😍

I ain't scared of smothering this all over my face and neck because I know it's gonna be absorbed fast and would also create a moisturized base for my makeup.  It also doesn't have any strong fragrance, you know, like that usual sunblock scent that could get a little annoying sometimes.  Haha!  😏

In case I don't find something new to try similar to this one, I'll surely repurchase!

Wonde Ruci Cacao Brightening Mask

Have you ever tried something that smells incredibly delicious on your face, you want to eat it?  This one's a perfect example.

When I got this from an Althea Box wayback, I thought they gave me a sweet treat.  Hahaha! 😄

Apparently, this oh so yummy-looking/smelling chocolate is a mask.  I swear, it looks, smells and feels like a gooey chocolate that I would very much like to put on a cracker or something.

However, here's the bad news.  The first time I tried it, I got a few whiteheads after.  I freaked out a bit since I knew I had put a lot and when I said a lot, I went really heavy like I was putting chocolate filling on cake.  Hahaha!  That shouldn't be surprising though, because it's hard to resist something that smells this good!  😙

Also, there's a heating effect, so that's the part where you could tell it's working.

I'm not sure if I'd give it a second chance.  Maybe I'll try it on a small area first?  Or shall I just go for the cracker?  Hahaha! 😛

Half Moon Eyes Pink Fruity

This one, I have only tried once as well.  There's no breakout though unlike when I used the cacao mask, so I might continue to use this.

It is basically a clay mask capsule made of dragon fruit extract, which targets excess sebum and clogged pores.  It smells nice, gives a slight cooling effect and you could really see seed-like particles there.

That's it!  I think I've showed you all skincare products I have currently.  I still have a couple of new makeup stuff to talk about and in the coming weeks, I'll try to ramp up my lipstick reviews.

Have a great week ahead! 😘

Looks like the BB cream craze died down a bit here after drugstore brands released a variety of good foundations, not to mention very great matte ones.  Perhaps people get to appreciate something that could give enough coverage and if the formula is not so heavy, it's a major plus because that means, using that everyday would still be okay.

However, I personally like to keep a BB cream in my stash and this one in particular is perfect on days when I feel like I could use a bit of coverage and brightness to my face.  Just this and a few dabs of concealer, I could beat dull-looking skin.

Of course, I tried to look for a matte BB cream but there was a limited option for me on Althea.  I also wanted to give cushion types a shot, but my budget did not permit.  Haha.  😬

This one, I got for only 500 php and it's already in 300 ml.

Mine is in the shade Natural Beige.  Sadly, there are only two color options.  The other is lighter.

The consistency is a bit thick and not too runny.  When I blend it, I could tell that it's tacky.  The formula is definitely crossing heavy for a BB cream.  That didn't surprise me though because this product is created to give more coverage than a typical daily BB cream.

It effectively blurs out pores and conceals redness and spots.  Although, my main gripe is the tackiness, so I can't definitely skip powder since I'm on the oily side.

It gives a beautiful luminous finish, which I also like because it creates a healthy-looking effect to the skin.  However, for a greasy gal like me, something matte would still be my first choice.  The powdery scent is also nice.

The best time to grab this tube instead of my matte foundation is on days when I think I would only need to look fresher and I know that I would not normally get a very greasy t-zone after a few hours.  It's still okay to use when weather is better, but overall, ladies on the drier side would surely enjoy this one.

I really love the brightening effect and the healthy, dewy glow it creates.  I said it's not so lightweight, but not to the point that it gets uncomfortable to wear even under concealer and powder.  My skin can still breathe and a little amount goes a long way.

There's really no stopping Althea!

After the successful launch of their Bare Essentials skincare line and additional shades of their Petal Velvet powder, here they go again with a well-thought-of beauty recipe.  And it's not just a typical product release because they partnered with Get It Beauty, Korea's no. 1 beauty TV show to create a skincare that would very much suit modern urbanites.

What made me even more excited receiving this package is the fact that I'm getting it as my first ever pink box as an Althea Angel.  Yep, I'm a lucky ducky!  It's also their 3rd birthday treat.  The duo came with this cute mirror, pouch and tote bag.

Now, let's talk about the deets, shall we?

Real Fresh Skin Detoxer is a 2-in-1 cleanser pack made from the realest and freshest key ingredients - Rose and Green Tea.  Right off the bat, they plainly appear as masks, which you apply then rinse off.  But wait til they come in contact with water because they double up as a cleanser.

You can get 2 variants for only 990 php.  A tube contains 150 ml of product.

This should be applied on dry skin.  Leave it for about 10 seconds (I think it won't matter much if it extends) then add a little bit of water so it could start foaming up.  Massage all over just like how you would normally cleanse you face then rinse.

I'm amazed at how the product turns into a froth-like treat.  Unlike all of the facial cleansers I've tried, these do not feel soapy at all.  I don't know how they made the formula that way.  So cool! 😊

And since these are made from natural ingredients, there's a refreshing feeling in every wash.  They are not drying and my skin feels smoother and softer.  I think the floral and green tea scent (not artificial) add to that fresh vibe too.

The rose mask refines texture, hydrates and can sooth irritations while the green tea mask purifies the skin.

Quick fun fact - they handpick the roses in France which only bloom once a year over the span of 5 weeks.  As for green tea, they only use baby leaves from the first harvest and of course, they get it from Jeju.

I've been using each variant consecutively for one week then I would just switch and so on.  For better results, Althea recommends to use Rose in the morning because it would also help balance skin's pH levels.  Green Tea is for nighttime skincare routine to help nourish the skin as it regenerates.  Both gently exfoliate and detoxify the skin as well.

I know you are curious if these can really remove makeup and dirt.  My answer is - oh yes!  What's left usually is mascara residue in between my lashes, but that's understandable because I'm using waterproof and I can clean that up anyway with one swipe of cotton pad soaked with micellar water.  Overall, you'd really get that my-face-is-so-ready-for-bedtime kind of clean.

Between the two variants, I find myself grabbing Green Tea more often because well, I'm not a fan of floral scent (but its effect to the skin is still great) and I just love how it smells so much like matcha.  Even for days when my skin is acting up, I would use Green Tea to kind of calm it down.

You're really in for a treat with these two!  It's a very different experience compared to other facial foams and with that, I think I would not replace them anytime soon.  I might get another tube once I run out.  Instead of sticking to a very foamy, soapy cleanser that can strip down the skin's natural oil, I would prefer something fresh and natural, yet very effective.  I mean, look at that.  Can you see the actual rose petals and green tea powder?  I wish you could smell the green tea one because it is so addicting! #matchaloverrighthere 😁
