Batch Review - Skincare from Backlog

by - October 15, 2018

Happy Sunday, world!

Feeling productive even though I didn't get to film as planned.  Well, I still managed to do some serious cleaning and here, I also have a new post for y'all.

Remember the batch review I did back in August featuring some of the makeup products I've been trying out?  I told you there will be a skincare version of that and here it goes.

Cosrx AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner

Cosrx is one of my favorite Korean skincare brands.  I just love how straightforward their products are.  After finishing a bottle of their Blackhead Power Liquid (loved it), I felt like I needed to try more so I got another toner.

It's pretty much a typical daily toner that exfoliates the skin because of the AHA/BHA in it and at the same time, gives hydration.

I only use it during nighttime after cleansing part because during daytime, I use my Althea Primer Water and I know products with AHA/BHA should not be used if you're going to be exposed to too much sunlight unless you use a sunscreen, of course.

Instead of soaking a cotton pad, I prefer spritzing a generous amount and then patting my face.  It feels like water, it doesn't sting, it is fast-absorbing and it's not drying at all.  I believe there's no alcohol in the ingredient list.

Comparing it to my previous bottle, I'd say I like that more.  I haven't noticed the benefits unlike before when I was using the Blackhead Power Liquid.  This one's just "meh", but for those looking for alcohol-free everyday toner, this could still work for you.

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash

This is one of the most gentle cleansers I've tried so far.  It lathers a bit (not too foamy) and it can remove grease but sadly, not makeup.  I think people who do not need to remove a lot of stuff from their face could enjoy this facial wash.

There's no scent and it doesn't make the skin too dry after use, so I think it's a good match for sensitive or dry skin.

The Saem Eco Earth Power Pink Sun Screen (440 php)

My non-negotiable when choosing a sunscreen is that, it should not be greasy.  For a greasy gal like me, the last thing I'd need is a product that would just create another oily mess on my face.

That's why I'm so happy I did find another sunscreen that not only isn't creating like a film of oil, but also feels like a normal moisturizer.  Another huge bonus is that, it doesn't give me those tiny bumps that I usually get when trying out sunscreens.  Perfection. 😍

I ain't scared of smothering this all over my face and neck because I know it's gonna be absorbed fast and would also create a moisturized base for my makeup.  It also doesn't have any strong fragrance, you know, like that usual sunblock scent that could get a little annoying sometimes.  Haha!  😏

In case I don't find something new to try similar to this one, I'll surely repurchase!

Wonde Ruci Cacao Brightening Mask

Have you ever tried something that smells incredibly delicious on your face, you want to eat it?  This one's a perfect example.

When I got this from an Althea Box wayback, I thought they gave me a sweet treat.  Hahaha! 😄

Apparently, this oh so yummy-looking/smelling chocolate is a mask.  I swear, it looks, smells and feels like a gooey chocolate that I would very much like to put on a cracker or something.

However, here's the bad news.  The first time I tried it, I got a few whiteheads after.  I freaked out a bit since I knew I had put a lot and when I said a lot, I went really heavy like I was putting chocolate filling on cake.  Hahaha!  That shouldn't be surprising though, because it's hard to resist something that smells this good!  😙

Also, there's a heating effect, so that's the part where you could tell it's working.

I'm not sure if I'd give it a second chance.  Maybe I'll try it on a small area first?  Or shall I just go for the cracker?  Hahaha! 😛

Half Moon Eyes Pink Fruity

This one, I have only tried once as well.  There's no breakout though unlike when I used the cacao mask, so I might continue to use this.

It is basically a clay mask capsule made of dragon fruit extract, which targets excess sebum and clogged pores.  It smells nice, gives a slight cooling effect and you could really see seed-like particles there.

That's it!  I think I've showed you all skincare products I have currently.  I still have a couple of new makeup stuff to talk about and in the coming weeks, I'll try to ramp up my lipstick reviews.

Have a great week ahead! 😘
