Hey, guys!  I'm baaaack!  Missed me?  I took a short break to do some other important things and that includes planning out the holiday collection for our shop.  And of course, everyone knows what happened after super typhoon Yolanda struck our country (yes, not just Visayas because we are always ONE after all).  It's good to know that things there are getting better.  People are starting to bounce back after the catastrophe.  But certainly, they still need help.

Now that I'm back to regular programming, time to post my backlogs.  HAHA!  First off, the review of my new red lipstick, Ruby Woo.

I already did a makeup video for this.  Here's the link in case you haven't seen it.  I made a promise to do a separate post, so here it is. :)

MAC released another set of Retro Matte lipsticks last September.  It's composed of seven shades including the inspiration behind the new set, Ruby Woo.

It's my first matte lippie from MAC.  And I must say, I love love love the formula!  Velvety texture and it's soooo easy to apply.  Just one glide and you get it's true color.

Ruby Woo is a very matte, vivid blue-red lipstick perfect for any skin color.  They say when it comes to red lipsticks, you should only wear the shade that matches your undertone.  I say, you don't need to!  Finding the perfect red lippie is as simple as breathing.  HAHA!  Okay, maybe that's not the correct comparison for that.  But kidding aside, it's really foolproof.  How?  You'll know if it's the one for you if it instantly brightens up your face.  Period. :)

Color: Again, what you see is what you get.  Very intense, bold red.

Application: Sometimes, it does a little dragging but still, very manageable.  Applying lip balm prior helps because it's a no-no to apply matte lipsticks on flaky lips.  Minimal bleeding too.

Texture: It feels soft.  For those who are not used to matte finish, you may say that it feels dry.  But actually, it's the perfect matte texture.  It doesn't overdry the lips though you might feel some chapping after several hours.

Longevity: Dabbing tissue on is not enough to transfer the color.  A few wipes do but product will still be there.  After drinking or eating, I noticed some fading but there would still be a bit of stains.

The photo above turned out to be a little dark.  HAHA!  Sorry bout that.  Anyway, here's the intensity of the color - one layer.

Next, the before and after. :)

Let me share more photos from my Ruby Woo video.  You can also check out high-res pictures here.

My cousin also wears Ruby Woo.  She has a very fair complexion and it looks so nice on her too. :)

Go for red lips sometimes!  It might be a little intimidating at first, but trust me, there's something about it that makes you look more confident and empowered.  #bigword  HAHA!  No matter how you wear it, for me it's always sexy and dramatic.  Put it on day or night!  Rock it girl! :P

How about you?  Do you prefer matte finish as well?  What's your favorite red lipstick?

Thanks again to Kris for choosing this for me. <3

Before I start talking about this outfit, let me ask everyone to continue praying for the victims of typhoon Yolanda.  I'm truly saddened watching the news and seeing the situation there.  But I believe that even the strongest storm won't break the Filipino spirit.  Have faith, stay strong and know that God is watching us.  It may seem that He's not doing something but He's there and listening to our prayers.

Anyway, I tried to play dress up with this lovely dress.  I couldn't resist grabbing everything in pink because the dress itself is fun and girly.  Even though, you know.. I have this love-hate relationship with that color.   HIHI!

The print is not too loud and very wearable.  Plus, the fabric is light and it's padded too!  No need to worry what bra to wear!  I love the overall fit and I bet it will look good with a pair of flats too.  To amplify the cuteness of this outfit, I put on these pretty floral socks.  I was so surprised how it made my heels so comfy!  I wish I could wear these anytime I want to.  But I know I will be an instant attention-grabber when I wear these in the mall.  Dare to try??  HAHA!

If this dress is too short for you, pair it with a skater skirt.  It's the perfect solution for adding length.  You must cover and protect yourself with those creepy eyes secretly watching your every move.  #YouKnowWhatIMean

From preppy to sweet and dainty.  Get two looks with one dress and a skater skirt.  What a simple and smart way to make different looks.  Try it!

What do you think?

Socks from Dickies

Hello, rainy November!  Just a few weeks left before Christmas!  Hopefully, I won't get stressed (again) with the Christmas shopping.  Kris and I are planning to start early to avoid long lines and crowded stores and I'm wishing we could find inexpensive gift ideas this time.  Any suggestions?

Anyway, today I'm sharing a few stuff I bought weeks ago.  No chance to shop because our wallets are barely breathing.  Tsk!  #dontwanttotalkaboutitnexttopicplease :P

Alright!  Let's start with my BB cream from Etude.

798 php

As usual, more details on a separate post.  But if you can't wait for that, check out my latest makeup video, Ruby Woo.  I used it already.

I'm a makeup fan but believe it or not, this is my first ever BB cream.  I was planning to try one a looooooong time ago but my stingy self told me, "You don't need it yet!".  HAHA!  Yea, I understand why "she" said that.  BB Creams especially those from Korean cosmetics shops are a little pricey.  Not yet ready to spend more than a thousand pesos just for this or even for other makeup products.  HAHA!  Am I a little hard on myself?  Well, on the second thought, why not if it's really worth every cent right?

Okay, moving on... here's the second item, red shorts from Maldita.

300 php

We went to BPI Outlet Sale 2 weeks ago but didn't buy anything except for this and a few treats from Trader Joe's and Lotus.  Adidas was offering Buy One Take One.  Nice deal from Ray Ban too, 2 printed wayfarers for only 8999 php.  50 to 70% discounts as well from Giordano, Lee and many more.  Actually, binili ko lang to para may mabili lang.  HOHO!

Finally, we were able to try the famous cookie butter, Lotus Biscoff spread.  This is the creamy version.  As expected, crunchy version was sold out.  Next time, we'll try Trader Joe's.

Kris loved the Butter Waffle Cookies, very similar like sugar ice cream cones.  We'll try Speculoos Cookies tomorrow.  Yummo!  :)

By the way, from now on, I'll be adding a quickie update in my Just In post.  Hope you like it!  Try to answer this as well in the comments below!

Currently Loving: English Bulldog Puppies - so cute!

My LSS: Spectrum by Zedd and Matthew Koma (acoustic version) - played it a hundred times when I did the Ruby Woo makeup video, that's why

Recently Watched: Pacific Rim - nice movie!  We regret not watching it in cinema.  Question here: Nakatayo ba sila sa ocean or lumulutang sila?  :P

ABSpiration Update: NovemBURN calendar is now up!  I don't like the dance cardio Saturdays.  Anyway, I tried 100 criss-crosses, 100 candle stick dippers and 50 hip twists.  My obliques are still hurting.  BUT I LOVE IT!   :D

Craving For: More cookie butter spread and wheat bread!  Oooh!  Sooo good!

That's all for now.  By the way, I'll edit another video.  Stay tuned! <3

Here are some photos from my makeup video, Ruby Woo.  I wanna try cat eyes plus red lips next time!  :)

Don't forget to apply lip balm for easier application.  If you have flaky lips, do a quick scrub.  Mix honey and sugar and rub it gently.

Try lining your lips first to avoid bleeding and feathering.  It will also make the color last.

Simple eye makeup.

What do you think of this effect?  The blue tint reminds me of Bigbang's poster in Alive concert tour.  HIHI!

I love Zedd's song, Spectrum.  I think the acoustic version is better.

I will work on the review of MAC Ruby Woo this week!  Stay tuned!

A new lipstick calls for a new makeup video!  HAHA!  Just kidding!  As you guys know, Kris gave me a new red lippie.  I actually asked for Riri Woo months ago but then, one day, he surprised me with Ruby Woo.

Anyway, I decided to do another look inspired by Michelle Phan's Spanish Rose.  I know, I know... I was not able to achieve the overall look.  HAHA!  I just picked that video because of the red lips and it's one of my faves.  :)

You can wear this on special events, day or night.  Probably, you are also unsure when and how to wear red lips.  The eye makeup should not be too heavy or smokey - just enough to balance everything.  After all, you can intensify this look anytime you want to.  :)

Time to click PLAY!

Face

I used BB cream (a separate post coming up) and concealer.  I set everything with my The Balm face powder.

Eyes

I used a pink matte eye shadow as the base and blended the edges with slightly shimmery gold.  :)

To give it depth, I added brown eye shadow on the outer corners.

I lined my eyes with black liquid eyeliner and topped it off with black eye shadow to intensify the color.  The thickness depends on your lids.

For the lower lash line, I used black eyeliner pencil and blended it out using the same brown color on my outer corners.  I also put some on my waterline.

Using false lashes is optional.  Just make sure to add volume and length.  Don't forget your lower lashes!

I also dabbed on a gold eye shadow on my inner corners.

Lips

And of course, for my lips, I used MAC Ruby Woo (review coming up next week).  Finish the look by doing some contouring and highlighting.  (I forgot to film some parts, sorry!)

I'm not sure if you noticed, but my forehead and chin are having some sort of irritation.  It's so obvious up close.  Ugh.  I hate it.  :(

I should have worn a red top!  HAHAH!  Anyway, I will upload more photos tomorrow!  Good luck!

Music by Zedd and Matthew Koma, Spectrum (acoustic version)

What do you think?

P.S.
Jaela's voice at the end of the video!
