So last week, I got in a state of panic because I accidentally took down le blog.  I attempted to set up a new domain and a new address, but after a few tweaks, I could not access the site anymore.  I hopelessly tried to revert the changes and even moved all of my contents to Wordpress as a backup plan, but it didn't work out fine.  Luckily, I remembered adding a script in the code and after removing that, le blog resurrected.  Haha!  😅

So lesson learned - plan out everything first.  I thought it would be an easy task.  I was wrong.

Setting up ichipestano.com is still in my to-do list though.  I just need to do more research.  Anyone here who has an idea on how to do that?

Anyhoo, it's time for another liquid lipstick review and guess what - these are from another homegrown brand. #lovelocal

I got two shades - a bright color and a nude.  Each is sold at 599 php but I only paid 399 php during a promotion.

They actually released a new matte formula recently and new colors as well.

Packaging is simple yet still nice.  Even the doe-foot applicator doesn't look and feel cheap.

Color

LORA is a pretty coral red.  I don't usually gravitate towards bright shades but I thought I could use a pop of color from time to time.  It has blue undertones so it makes the teeth appear whiter.

MONO is a mute nude beige with a hint of peach.  I thought it would make me look washed out at first because it's pale.  I just love how it creates a fuller-looking lips.

Both shades stay the same even when dried.  The pigmentation is also okay but if I want to get the full color, I need to dip in few more times.

Finish and Formula

They do dry down but the finish is not 100% matte.  Well, Mono appears more matte than Lora.  The latter is more on the satin side actually, so it doesn't make the lips look wrinkly.  😊

There's shea butter, argan oil, mango butter and Vitamin E in the formula that hydrate the lips.  They also don't feel heavy on lips.

There's a faint sweet scent and a waxy taste as well.

Application

They are streaky so doing another layer is a must to even out the color.  What's good though about Lora is that, even if it's a bright color, it's not messy to apply.

I also notice a greasy feeling during application and maybe it's because of the oils in the formula.  Not a biggie though.

One watch-out about Mono is how it tends to look crusty especially on the inner part.

Lasting Power

It's amazing how they created a formula that is not totally matte and dry-looking yet there's still no color transfer.

Color fades after a meal but it can survive drinking at least.  Haha.  😁

I do recommend these!  Formula-wise, they're great.  A bit expensive though compared to other local liquid lippies but they're bigger, so I guess that fine. (8.6 g).

I would love to try their new shades.  Any suggestion which one?  They also released a lip and cheek tint in pretty colors and I might score one soon. 😙

Like Colourette Cosmetics on Facebook.  You can find them in Landmark, Trinoma or you can buy directly from their website or on Lazada.

Here's one item in my collection that I just couldn't stop using lately.  Even if there's no reason for me to put on highlighter on a very normal, lazy day, I would be like "just a little bit".  I know it's an extra step and I could just be saving few more minutes in prep time, but sometimes, it's hard to resist the glow.  Haha!  😙

I've showed you the liquid version of Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector already, so it's time to introduce its sister - the pressed one.

When I shopped for highlighters on Sephora before, this immediately went to my cart without thinking twice.

The moment I saw it, touched it, I almost squealed.  It's just so mesmerizing.

The packing itself is simple yet has a luxe feel to it.

I went for Opal because of the champagne color.  I can see light gold tones when it's on the skin as well.

The texture is so different from the other highlighters I currently have.  There's no powder feel and it's wet to the touch.  It is so soft and it applies smoothly, not patchy at all.

A little goes a long way in terms of application, but of course, it's hard to stop as you're putting it on because the glow it gives is way to beautiful.  Haha!  😁

It also creates a "wet look" effect just like the liquid version, but this one is more intense and reflective.  It can emphasize the pores and skin texture a bit so make sure to blend it nicely and start with a tiny amount.

I like applying it on the inner corner of my eyes and spreading it a bit on the lower lashes as well.

Like I said in the video, I wouldn't deny that it's damn expensive but hey, it's Becca and it won't disappoint.  Plus, you'll get the "I can see you from outer space" kind of glow.  A compact will last you a lifetime (really) so for me, it's worth the splurge.

What do you think?

You can get this from Sephora through this link.

Expect to see a series of reviews on liquid lipsticks, highlighters, Korean cosmetics in the coming weeks.  This month, I'll focus on slashing my backlog list at least in half before I shop for new products.  I'm also planning to finish a blog project, which I'm very excited about.  Le blog is turning 6 this year and I think it's just about time to do an upgrade.  Once everything is ready, you're going to see a big change anytime this month (hopefully).

Anyhoo, I'm gonna talk about another loose powder from a Korean brand.  This is the last one before I do the throwdown post for them.

If you're a big fan of K-beauty, you are probably reminded of another brand after seeing the photo above.  Yep, you're right.  It looks like the loose powder by Innisfree.  Actually, not just the look but also the scent.

It's pretty much the same thing.  It's also made to control excess sebum and blur pores.

The product is housed in the same round packaging with a sifter thing and a nice puff.

I can describe the texture of the powder as somewhat starchy.  It's finely milled and smooth when applied yet it feels a tad bit gritty.

It doesn't create a white cast nor a brightened area.  What it does best is to instantly mattify the skin.

I can also notice less visible pores whenever I used this powder.

I find that it can set foundation and concealer really well.  There's still some creasing after a few hours though.

Also, my face still gets greasy and I have to re-apply to make it matte again.  However, since it's ultra lightweight, I don't mind multiple touch ups throughout the day.

To be honest, I don't see much difference between this and Innisfree's.  Well, probably just the texture but other than that, I can say that it's a dupe.  Anyway, I'll make sure to share the breakdown on the separate throwdown post.

You can find this product and other ones from Aritaum on Althea's site.
