Althea has really taken their game to the next level.  With all of the back-to-back releases, it's hard to keep up - in a good way though.  That ain't a complain because trying out new products is one thing I truly enjoy.

Here are two Althea Exclusives that came in the mail last month.

The first one I'm gonna talk about is the product made in collaboration with Indonesian star, Titi Kamal.  They veered away a bit from skincare and makeup and created a Body Sparkling Mist.

From the packaging and the product description online (check it here), anyone could tell that the fragrance is floral.  And being a not-so-fond-of-floral-scent kind of person that I am, I wasn't too excited.  However, the first spritz brought a change of heart.  I love how the fruity notes give a sweet, fresh scent and how it kind of lighten the floral notes.

Next is another 2-in-1 product, combining the powers of a deep cleanser and a serum.

Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser is basically an oil cleanser with serum benefits in it.  The formula guarantees hydration, pore care and balanced pH level because of the mint leaf extract, jojoba seed oil and tea tree leaf extract.

This melts away makeup, even the stubborn ones and even if it's oil-based, it doesn't feel irritating nor leave greasy residue.

I applied lip tint, regular and long-lasting liquid lipstick, mascara, waterproof eyeliner and mascara, brow tint and foundation on the back of my hand to test how tough this cleanser is.

I then put on a few drops and did a good rub.  The instruction says rinse with water, but here, I just used cotton pads to wipe everything off.  I got nothing left.

The lip tint left no stain and even the liquid lipstick that's always giving me a hard time taking off didn't leave a mark.

Of course, I had to try it on my face as well.  It doesn't feel like you are massaging oil on since there's still water in the formula.  I could barely smell anything as well.

I've tried cleansing balms and oil-based makeup removers before and most of them would either irritate my eyes or cause a blurred vision when the product gets in.  Haha!  😛 This one doesn't give me the same problems so I could really work my way to remove waterproof mascara and eyeliner.

It is still recommended to double cleanse, so after rinsing this with water, grab your cleanser.  But definitely, makeup won't stand a chance with this one.  😉

One trend in the K-beauty world that has swarmed my IG feed are bubble masks.  Seems like the buzz over facial mask sheets has hushed a little.  Of course, Althea, who has been keeping up with all of the hot stuff in both makeup and skincare department has recently launched their own version of it and it's not the usual charcoal type.  They have come up with a formula that made the product itself even more interesting to try.

Who wants to chug some milk?

Milk Peel Cream Mask works as a gentle exfoliator.  From clay, it bubbles up and then, the fun happens.  It lifts up the grime, making the skin free of impurities.  And since it contains AHA and BHA, rest assured that the dead skin cells on the surface and those annoying clogs will be taken care of too.

While doing all the work, it won't leave the skin on a drought.  After the bubbling situation, it turns into a creamy, delicious lather as you rinse it.  The milk protein extract in it gives the skin a gulp of hydration.  If milk bath is just a fantasy for you, at least you'd get something similar for your face, right?  Haha!  😛

Don't get alarmed by the word "peeling" because there's no visible flaking or such.

The formula is light enough to be used daily as they say, but since it's still an exfoliator, maybe more than once a week is safer.  I've actually tried it thrice already in the past 7 days and I haven't noticed any bad reaction to the skin.

I love the powdery scent and how it leaves the skin a bit more radiant after rinsing.  The fun part is watching it bubble up.  It's also kind of ticklish.  😳

Clay masks are usually drying, yet effective because it could really deep cleanse the skin and unclog the pores.  Adding the milk component to it makes the product simultaneously hydrating and I guess that what makes this Milk Peel Cream Mask from Althea one of the best products for #skingoals.

I apply a generous amount and spread it like cream cheese.  Haha! 😙

Here's how it looks like once you add water.  From here, you can just rinse it off.  There's no greasy residue whatsoever.

I'm really enjoying this new product by Althea.  Looks like I'm going to run out of this soon because I'm using it often.  I might stay away from scrubs for now since I found a much more awesome and way less abrasive option.

Since sharing pictures isn't enough to show and prove to you how fun this product is (especially the bubbling action hihi), watch out for the video on my Instagram (@ichipestano).

You can get this for only 490 php and that's already 50ml!  Click here to go the product page.

Once you try it, make sure to take a "bubble selfie" for le 'gram!  Aaaaaand... don't spill the milk!  Char.  Haha!  😝

Maybe one thing you could still add to your resolution list is to show your skin more love this year if you have been giving so little attention to it lately.  Don't take for granted the time it's still cooperating and behaving fine, because the moment it starts to show signs that it's getting older, it would be harder to consistently get good skin days.  So my friendly advice aside from choosing the right stuff to eat and chugging more water is to begin creating a skincare routine if you haven't already.  Or for those who have it, do a quick check if you have the basic products because most people tend to forget one very important step - protect.

For those who are new to the whole skincare thing, one great set to start with is Althea's Bare Essentials.  However, you'd need one more product and that would be sunscreen.

The Althea fairies need no reminder because as everyone tries their skincare trio, they're already cooking Petal Velvet Sunaway.

No skincare routine will be complete without sunscreen.  Actually, I can skip moisturizer at daytime but not sun protection especially when I go out.  Take note, this product is not only for beach trips, outdoor sports and the likes.  You always gotta shield your skin from Mr. Sun's harmful rays.

This one has SPF 50+ and is formulated with hydrating key ingredients such as Damask rose extracts and geranium oil.  It's very lightweight.  It even feels almost lighter than a typical moisturizer.

The consistency is very watery and it doesn't take time to dry down.  I prefer putting it on the palm of my hand first after a good shake, then use my fingers to apply it all over my face.

It contains micro-powder particles for that needed sebum-control as well.  I love how it doesn't feel so drying yet there's also no greasy or creamy feel at all.

Are you also the type who hates sunscreens that give a white cast?  Ugh.  Annoying, isn't it?  Petal Velvet Sunaway doesn't give me that, so I'm super amazed.  The best part, after using it for days now, I haven't noticed the irritations that I usually get from sunscreens.  That means my skin is okay with the formula and I can continually use this baby.  Yay! 😚

Under makeup, it's working okay too.  There's no patchiness when I layer primer and BB cream.

The only thing I'm not so happy about Sunaway is the scent, but that's because I'm not a fan of floral.  It comes a bit strong but only until you blend the product out.

For 480 php, I think this is a good buy because even other drugstore or Korean daily sunscreens are a bit more expensive.

This would definitely go into my bag as I pack for our beach trip next month.  Haha!  #ineedyouthemost 😊

I love the little brightening and primer-like effect it gives.  The non-sticky formula is a big plus too!  It's perfect for no-makeup-just-kilay-and-tint days.

I have here a tiny amount of BB cream and concealer on top of Petal Velvet Sunaway

You can get it from here - https://ph.althea.kr/petal-velvet-sunaway.
