I could still remember how much fun it was back in the good old days when all you could color your lips with was a very tinted candy.  Who here loved Lipps?  Hahaha!  There's also a gumball called Pintoora and we would always check out our tongues too after giving a good chew.  #simplejoys 😁

Now, here comes our ever reliable lip tints that could resemble the same stained effect even more so, the packaging - just exactly like these.

These are the two variants of The Saem's Candy Tint.  They also have another type in mousse formula.

I got Water Candy Tint on Althea shop for only 210 php and Jelly Candy Tint came from a Korean cosmetic store here in our place.  If I recall correctly, it's around 320 php.

Color

I picked Cherry and Peach.  The latter is a lovely coral shade.  However, it lacks pigmentation, unlike the other one.  Maybe the other darker colors would be a better option if you're really after the intense payoff.

Oh!  Guess what's the scent like?  Cherry reminds me of the mini cherry balls I used to buy for 25 centavos each.

Finish & Formula

Water Candy is a typical water-based tint while Jelly Candy is something I don't consider as gel-based because it looks and feels more like of a tinted gloss.  Plus, it's tacky too.  I have actually tried one gel-ish tint from Etude House and that one has a gel, non-watery consistency, but still dries down to a matte finish.

Application

On the cheeks, I could not definitely use Jelly Candy because it's sticky AF.  Moreover, I don't get the flush of color that I want as I blend it.  Water Candy is also a bit unforgiving since it's so pigmented.  It requires me to smudge it quickly because otherwise, I would be left only with messy stains.  Hahaha!  😛

Cherry on cheeks

If you're going for a gradient lip look, do it with the water-based one.  Again, Jelly Candy just pretty much gives a high-shine tinted lips.  I think it would work best though as a lip topper.

Lasting Power

Peach still leave a good stain, but it would also fade after drinking or eating.  Cherry, on the other hand, lasts long enough on me (as a cheek and lip tint).  It could be a bit drying though so I make sure to moisturize with a lip balm.  Currently, I'm using Vaseline Lip Therapy.

Remember the other The Saem liquid lip tint I featured here on le blog?  It's similar to Water Candy except it only comes in a slightly thicker consistency.

Here's how Peach looks like after wiping it off.  The color is more natural-looking than Cherry when it's dry.

However, I would still pick Water Candy because what I usually go for is a vibrant pop of color for my cheeks and lips when I'm using any lip tint.

I would still keep Jelly Candy because I don't have any glossy lippie in my collection and sometimes, a juicy finish looks better with some looks.

Breaking the usual weekend habit by going on an unanticipated movie date and bringing some spontaneity to my life by going to a boxing gym when in fact, what you planned was just wall climbing.  Hahaha!  Sure, siesta times are the best especially on a lazy Sunday, but sometimes, it's also good to trade them for other fun and productive (non-work only please haha) activities.  It's like being a stubborn kid again when you're always sneaking out just to avoid afternoon naps. 😂

Of course, an accomplished weekend won't be complete without a blog post.  Here's a review of another product I'm currently using.

L'Oreal brought one of their best products here in the Philippines.  It's a cult-favorite and even dubbed by beauty influencers as the best drugstore mascara.

It was just so timely that I was looking for a new mascara when this was put on a discounted price.  I immediately grabbed the chance to try it and here are my thoughts.

The brush size is a bit chunkier compared to others I've tried, but it can still coat the bottom lashes neatly.  It has soft, wavy and dense bristles that could catch each lash.

It can definitely add length and volume to my almost non-existent lashes.  However, because of the formula and the brush, my lashes do not come out separated.  They are rather clumpy and spidery especially on the second coat.

The first coat gives a nice feathery effect.  It's like I'm wearing natural false eyelashes.  It's one of those mascaras that could fake a lash-with-primer look.

I actually do not recommend going for two coats because it tends to just stick the lashes together.

Once it dries, it won't budge.  I haven't noticed smudging or flakes falling on my under eyes.  It is so waterproof that you would need to use a second cleanser to completely take it off.

What I do is, I will use my serum cleanser by Althea first to break down the product and then wash my face with another facial cleanser.  After rinsing, the strands will be mascara-free but it leaves a bit of a mess on the lids and roots most of the time.

To solve that, I would soak a cotton pad with micellar water and rub it to get rid of the dust-like residues.  Given its excellent budge-proof formula, I would either skip wearing it on casual days or brushing it lightly, just so I get a very small amount of product yet still enough to make my lashes a bit visible.

I would still agree that Last Paradise creates fuller-looking lashes without that dreadful mascara smudge.  My only gripe is the cleansing part.  Or maybe, if there's a normal version of this, not the water-proof type, that would work for me better.  Water-proof types are for special occasions anyway, right? 😙

Good news!  You can get this for only 399 php instead of 500 php until end of March 2019.

I think my love for matte lipsticks will always be as intense as their pigment and persistent as how most of them last on the lips.  Haha!  Same goes for lip tints.

Creamy mattes, velvetty mattes, powder mattes and now, Fluffmattes, or as what they like to call it - modern mattes.  For those in search for the perfect matte lips, there's so much to choose from and good news is, you can find the best ones even in the drugstore.

Sunnies brought a different flavor this time with their Fluffmates - available in 9 universally flattering shades.  Right after the launch, I heard that it's really hard to score a tube and that made me even more curious to know what the hype was all about.

I really like the new frosted case.  With the packaging and presentation, you can't tell that it's only 345 php.

I got mine from Lazada, but they now have more stores around the metro and even one in Cebu.  You can check out their location here.

Color

I only have 2 shades and I opted for one nude and one in a darker color.  Among the 9 shades, I heard that the popular ones are Milkshake, Girl Crush and Major.  However, you won't see any of the three here.  Hahaha!  😛

Baked is a terracota peach.  If you're into peachy nudes, this is a great choice.  It can complete a fresh makeup look.

Mood is a taupe mauve, which I think is one of the dark lip colors that would look great on all skin tones.

Both give the same intense color on one swipe.  Mood sometimes tend to be patchy when I'm doing a full lip, but it's still easy to even out.

Finish and Formula

It's undeniably matte (even the bullet itself), like without the "but".  Some matte lipsticks still have a little shine to them, but this one is really flat, yet not looking all dried up.

It has this powder feel to it when it's on your lips and the crazy part is, it's weightless.  It gives you the color and the matte finish, yet it's like you're wearing nothing and it's hella comfy.  Amazeballs.  😄

Application

Baked on cheeks and lips

Another way to describe a Fluffmatte lippie - a matte lipstick that glides like a dream.  Like I said, the bullet looks dry and the formula is powdery, but there's no tugging as you swipe it.  However, on chappy lips, Mood could look a bit messy and maybe it's the same with the darker shades.

When my "lipstick of the day" is Baked, I would also use it on my cheeks because I want that peachy blush effect it gives.  It is super blendable on skin and since it has a powder finish, the flush of color looks natural.

Mood is good as a blush too!  But I would only go for it if I do not do full lip.  Sometimes, I would just do a few dabs on the lips and go crazy on the cheeks.

Both can double up as a multistick, so I tried using it on my eyelids for that monochromatic look. 😊

Lasting Power

So what's the catch?

Well, it's the need for touch-ups.  Because of the formula, although it's not a creamy type, it transfers easily and there's some fading when used as a lipstick or as a blush.  The color would be gone after a burger or a slice of pizza, more so a delicious ramen and yep, after blotting too.  Hihi.  😛

If it's just for the weightless feel, shade selection and gorgeous matte finish, this definitely makes it to my favorite matte lipstick list.  However, if I have to pick reliable, long-lasting ones, Fluffmate is off-topic.  Nevertheless, price point isn't so bad and for most people, re-applying isn't a biggie, so I still think these deserve a spot in your lipstick collection or a space in your makeup kit. 😚
