I'm so sleepy and I don't think I will be able to write a decent post today.  Anyway, at least let me share another restaurant you could try, especially for the meat/steak lovers out there.

We went to SM Annex for a quickie pedicure at Posh Nails.  We saw a few, new restaurants and decided to try Brickfire.

Here's the menu.

Who could say no to a 200g t-bone steak for a price of 149 php???

70 php

For appetizer, we ordered Truffled Mac & Cheese.  Serving for entrees took 10 to 15 minutes so it's a good choice to have something on your table while waiting.

Look at the size!  It's soft and juicy.  You can also replace your rice with mashed potato.

149 php

285 php

Tenderloin for me!

Service Charge: Yes
Taste: 5 burps!!!
Serving: Big portions
Value for money: Very reasonable prices
Service: So-so
Place: They can accommodate around 20-25 I guess.  They are located near Medical City, SM Annex.

We will definitely come back for more t-bone!   :)

Like Brickfire on Facebook for more details.

It's been an awesome week!  Daebak!  Though I apologize for not posting anything since Tuesday.  I was supposed to publish this yesterday but I had so much work-related stuff to do.  We also celebrated our FIRST ANNIVERSARY this week and we did it a bit differently.  We decided not to go for the usual romantic dinner so we took a 2-day leave.  First thing in our list... Korean food trip!  The next day, we escaped to Tagaytay again to try wake boarding.  Of course, I'll share the rest of the story on a separate post.  *wink

Today, I'll be showing you guys some of my recent purchases and a few birthday gifts I received from my dearest friends.

I have a new toner!  I used Loreal's before and I had no regrets trying because it helped control oil.
This one is from Snoe - my new favorite organic/natural brand.  Their packaging is really appealing and I also read many great feedback about their products.

Another one from the same family - a black whitening soap.  I couldn't find the box anymore but I hope this actual product photo is fine.  I've used up half of it already.  :)

Let's move on to clothes!

This is my second time buying from WAGW.  I tried their online shop and gladly, delivery was fast though you might experience some difficulties browsing the products.  I opted for shipping because they don't do pick ups at their Trinoma branch.  And yea, these came with a free tote bag. :)

My first purchase from Cotton On.  They had a sale for some selected items.  Sooooo happy because I got a dress and a knit pullover (my new addiction) for only 1000 pesos. Yay!

My Call It Spring boxes are piling up.  HAHA!  I really love this brand!!!  SUPER!  <3  You can check out my Lookbook post here and here.

These 2 caught my attention.  Well, it's time to replace my black, comfy shoes.  This is also my first time to try t-strap sandals.  Hopefully, my feet will cooperate.  Are you attracted to anything glittery as well?  HOHO!

Thanks to my bessy, Angel, Mae and Ate Jen for these birthday presents!!  Who can say no to new and FREE clothes! :)

No new makeup products for now but I'm planning to buy a few next month.  I need a new red lipstick, a concealer and a BB cream.  Any recommendations?

Happy weekend, everyone!!

Since I requested for a Korean dinner for my birthday, we tried this very interesting BBQ meat all you can place called K-Pub.  It's impossible not to notice this because of the colorful facade.  At first, I thought it's a club.  HAHA!  :)

It's located at 28th Street corner 5th Avenue, BGC.  They are open until midnight so it's also perfect if you want to hang out with your friends, have a couple of beers while cooking mouthwatering BBQ on your own table.

I will be showing you my birthday outfit on a separate Lookbook post. :)

We made our reservation 2 days before and tried if we can get the table beside Bigbang's poster on the second floor.  It's funny but hey, it's my birthday!  A little birthday request... HIHI!  We arrived around 7PM.  There were only a few people when we came so they asked us if its okay to stay on the first floor.  No problem because we also enjoyed watching the music videos of some k-idols.

2ne1 - Falling in Love

Speaking of music videos, what makes this restaurant special is this huge HD LCD.  I was able to watch 2ne1, CNBlue, Hyo Ri and Sistar 19.  I discovered few catchy songs too!  HAHA! We patiently waited for any Bigbang song but they only played Blue and Oh Yeah.  Oh well! :P

Lee Hyo Ri - Miss Korea

G-Dragon and TOP feat. Park Bom - Oh Yeah

BIGBANG - Blue

They also have a special birthday music video.  They played this several times - meaning, many celebrants that day!

Before I show you the food, check out the place first.

They also have spacious rooms (left side - with curtains) if you prefer a little privacy.  Upstairs, you'll see more tables.  We played foosball too!  :)

Meet my BAD BOYS!! HAHA! <3

Alright, here's what we ate!!  They served all side dishes, kimchi pancake, salad, soup and keranggim (steamed eggs) immediately.

We chose the 899 promo because we intended to stay.  It includes everything in the 499 - 1 hour promo plus more beef!!!  All side dishes are unlimited.  As for the drinks, they offer barley juice.  If you want to go for bottomless juice and Pepsi products, just add 40 php.

My favorite... Kimchi rice!! :)  I love the metal chopsticks and bowl.

Our first batch... samgyeopsal (pork belly - botttom), beef kalbi (marinated short ribs - top left) and beef bulgogi (beef in soy and garlic).  The friendly staffs will cook them for you.  You can request for a refill anytime and they will bring them to your table.

anchovies, tofu, radish kimchi

sauces

keranggim (steamed eggs) - not my type :P

more kimchi and sweet potato

bibimbap

time to roll it!

sikhye - rice drink (they served this after our meal, aids digestion)

Meat overload!!  We also had dak galbi (marinated chicken) and more kalbi.  They also offer ala carte dishes, but we were so full already so we didn't try any.

Overall, I enjoyed our Korean BBQ experience.  Happy to celebrate my birthday there with Kris (and Bigbang... chos!).  Everything was delicious except for the steamed eggs and cold noodles.  I expected more well-known Korean dishes like tteokbokki but I guess they specialize in meat (kaya nga meat-all-you-can).  If you want to try, I recommend the 499 - eat and run promo.   Busog na kayo kahit 1 hour lang.  I promise!

For more information, like K-Pub on Facebook and visit their website.  By the way, local bands are performing there as well.  I think it started 2 weeks ago.  You can also find K-Pop goodies such as album, posters, etc.

So, calling all K-Pop fans... this is the perfect place for you!  Very reasonable buffet price, fulfilling meals, awesome ambiance and of course, your favorite k-pop idols in their music videos right in front of you. :)

One way to get rid of clogged pores is to exfoliate regularly.  Since I'm too lazy to do my weekly facial at home, I had to look for something that can do the job quicker.  Daily facial wash is sometimes not enough, especially for visible pore-prone skin.  On the other hand, even though regular scrubbing works, it could be a little tricky for ladies who have sensitive skin.  So many problems!!  How I wish I could have that flawless, baby skin forever!

I have already introduced The Body Shop's Tea Tree line before.  This time, I bought a facial scrub.

550 php

Actually, I was supposed to buy the Seaweed Scrub, but the saleslady recommended this instead.  I asked for her advice to know which is better for treating clogged pores.  This is a little cheaper so why not? :)

The description says that this is suitable for blemished skin.  That's the number 1 benefit of tea tree based products.  It also promises to unclog pores without over-drying the skin.

There are so many ingredients listed.  Not familiar with most of them. :)

The packaging is okay.  I like the design.  It's in a regular plastic tube that's easy to open and close.  One warning though, the product's consistency is not thick so make sure to not overly squeeze.

Can you see the white particles?  Well, most of them are extremely tiny and not visible to the naked eye.  You need to rub it on your skin to tell the difference.

What I love about it:
  • Squeaky clean skin indeed after - no greasy feeling but still, doesn't leave the skin tight
  • No breakout
  • Cleanses pores but doesn't effectively remove the deep seated dirt - I guess it's fair enough because at least it helps to fight some of the the stubborn blackheads
  • Not messy - you won't end up having the beads on your hair
  • Tolerable scent - tea tree is known for having a strong smell but you can easily deal with it
  • Doesn't hurt even if you thoroughly rub it
  • Little amount goes a long way - a pea size contains a lot of beads already
  • Removes makeup residues too
  • Takes care of rough skin
  • Helps reduce appearance of pimple marks - I have one on my cheeks but it's less visible now
Watch outs:
  • A little redness - but still not harsh on skin
  • No peeling
  • If you're very sensitive about scent, it may cause a little eye irritation
  • Minimal effects on pore size

I'm not sure if the texture is a pro or a con.  Some prefers large beads while others like it as micro as possible.  In any case, I think the most important thing about scrubs is how it strips away the dead skin cells and removing blackheads while being abrasive and at the same time gentle enough to take care of our delicate skin.  No one wants to rub a sandpaper on our face.  HAHA!

I tried using this for a week and I saw a little improvement in terms of unclogging.  But then again, it's powerless against the dirt buried under my open pores.  So, I tried removing them first with some pricking.  I used this product for another 2 weeks and more noticeable effects came after.

We all know how stubborn these black bad boys can be.  They will be gone for some time but will be back again, saying hello to you after a while.  Whew!  But this product helps me get rid of them a little longer than usual.

Recommended frequency is twice or thrice a week.  I tried to use it daily but my skin became dull and rough.  :(

Tea tree extract works great as exfoliator too.  No regrets in buying this.  However, I'd still like to have the Seaweed one as my next scrub. :)
