Beuins Sample Stash

by - September 13, 2018

I did some sorting last month so I could also plan out my posts and I found these samples.  These came in one of my Althea boxes and since I don't like putting products to waste, I thought I'd give each of them a try.

I was hesitant at first because the last time I was on a sample-spree, my skin freaked out and a few spots popped up.  But they do look interesting and using masks continuously for 2 weeks sounded like a good idea.  I think it's not so much different with using mask sheets because essentially, you still get the same formula in your face.

Here, we have 5 sleeping masks, 1 clay mask and 1 scrub mask.  I used each sleeping mask every night for about 2-3 days and used the clay and scrub mask once.

The sleeping masks pretty much have the same effect and formula, but I got to narrow down my top picks.  Check it at the end of this post!

I included the product description from the back of the sachet.

Honey Scrub Mask

Contains walnut powder and honey.

Nutrition Sleeping Mask

Moisturizes skin and makes it radiant.  Contains Centella asiatica (some kind of plant) and Macademia oil.

Hydro Sleeping Mask

Promotes water circulation of skin and provides moisture.  Contains bursting water droplets (I don't know how haha 😛) and plant-based moisturizing ingredient.

Soothing Sleeping Mask

Soothes and softens sensitive skin.  Contains Dragon blood extract (should it be dragonfruit? haha 😆 ).

Pore Clay Mask

Makes skin smooth and healthy by absorbing and removing sebum and impurities from pores.  Contains Moroccan clay.

Energy Sleeping Mask

Provides vitality and strengthens skin.  Contains goat milk and vitamins.

Whitening Sleeping Mask

Brightens and whitens dull, blotted skin.  Contains eggplant and niacinamide.

I really like how they make the logos related to what each mask is supposed to do to the skin or what they are for.

All sleeping masks are hydrating but some have a very cream-based feel while some are lightweight.  The clay mask on the other hand, is softer and easier to apply compared to Innisfree's Jeju Volcanic mask.  As for the scrub, it reminds me of St. Ives Apricot Scrub.

Luckily, nothing bad happened to my skin except for one pimple on my chin.  The clay mask is my suspect because that's the only new product I used that day.  Haha!  😜

For my top picks:

  1. Hydro Sleeping Mask - reminds me of Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, I love how it melts and feels like you just put on water yet skin is hydrated
  2. Soothing Sleeping Mask - skin feels extra smooth after I rinse my face the next day
  3. Energy Sleeping Mask - like a lightweight moisturizer and really hydrating

What do you think?  Have you tried any of them?
