Do your skin a favor and make sure that it is always dirt and makeup-free before hitting the sack.  That, you should never skip or else, a new pimple will say hi to you the next day.

Speaking of cleansing, do you only use facial cleanser and that's it?  Or do you prefer wiping your face first with facial wipes or makeup remover prior?  If you ask me, I do the latter only if I have a full glam makeup on.  On normal days, washing my face is enough.

Anyway, here's a product that you can incorporate in your skincare routine and might make cleansing easier.

L'Oreal Paris recently introduced their version of micellar water.  In case the term sounds unfamiliar, it's basically a very gentle makeup remover.  The formula is made up of micelles or tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules suspended in water that act as magnet.

This retails at 225 php but I got it at a discounted price because of a promo.  Not bad for 250 ml.

It doesn't sting the eyes unless a lot of product gets in.  It also doesn't require a lot of rubbing even though sometimes, I unknowingly do so.  Haha.  😤

My eyes are red here not because of the micellar water.  Blame the contact lenses.  😌

So far, the only makeup that's hard to remove using this product is liquid lipstick, especially the matte ones that really cling to the lips.

It is fragrance-free, it feels like water, it's not drying and it's more affordable compared to most brands as well.

Now that I have completed all reviews of my 4 under 400 php BB creams, it's time to put them all in one post and let you know which one's my favorite.

I know there are plenty of options in the drugstore and I could have gotten a few more like the one from Pond's, Celeteque or Ever Bilena.  However, I still think this is a good bunch and they all perform differently, so let's just save the others for maybe a batch two.

So here's what you need to know about each of them.  Find out which one's the best for you!

I also did an oil-test to see which one is the greasiest.  Any guess?

As you can see iWhite would give you the least amount of oil and that also explains why Glamworks BB Cream is the tackiest.

So if you're a greasy gal like me, you might want to avoid the ones with big rings of oil above.

Only iWhite (both shades) and LA Girl Light/Medium match my complexion.  Also, they can all even out my skin tone but only Maybelline can give full coverage with only one layer.

Here are some photos wearing each BB cream under concealer and powder.  Click the name if you want to read the full review.

iWhite BB Holic in Light

Glamworks BB Cream in Medium Nude

L.A. Girl Pro HD BB Cream in Light/Medium

Maybelline Super Cover BB Cream in Natural

See this baby in action here on my latest makeup video.

Now, it's time to let you know which one is my favorite.  It definitely has to be iWhite BB Cream and L.A. Girl is the runner up.

It's mainly because I love lightweight bases and on a daily basis, I don't prefer wearing a mask of makeup.  I also usually stay away from super tacky products because my face alone gets sticky after several hours.

Coverage isn't an issue for me unless I'm having a "bad skin day" due to clogged pores and pimples.  I can always put on a layer of concealer to correct some areas as needed.

So that's it!  I'm actually thinking of the next category for this new series.  Any suggestion?

Have you tried any of these?  Which one do you like?

I deserve a glass of wine or a bottle of beer because I'm almost done with today's to-do list. #feelingproductive🍷

I finished a new makeup video so do watch out for it.  I will also try my best to publish another post despite of a hectic week ahead and film a lip swatch video before the month ends (okaaaay, I got this).

So yesterday before doing my makeup, I realized that there are a few new brushes that I haven't talked about yet.  Well, two of them, you have probably seen in my haul video but I thought it would be better if I just feature all 3 of them in one post.

Real Techniques Sculpting Brush

If you really wanna nail that contour, you gotta have the right brush.  Before, I was only using RT Buffing Brush but it didn't give a precised application.  Not that I wanted chiseled cheeks all the time, it's just better to use an angled brush rather than a round one.  The Contour Brush from Core Collection also works great but I find myself reaching for a larger one to really blend everything nicely.

The shape is perfect when blending my contour powder from the ear part down to the cheeks.  The brush is very soft and it can pick up product well.

It can also be used to blend and set concealer on the under eye area because the shape/size is perfect and it's fluffy enough, just like any other buffing brush.

I love using it to shade my nose bridge too because it instantly gets rid of harsh lines.

It can also be used to apply blush or dust powder all over the face.

I got mine from Real Techniques website but you can also buy RT tools in SM Department Store.

The next two brushes are from local brands that I discovered on BeautyMNL.

The A-List Concealer Buffer Brush (150 php)

Even though it's named as a concealer brush, I still see it as an all-around buffer brush.  It's definitely one of my favorites currently.

First of all, it's soft, fluffy and can buff out any liquid or cream product.

I also use RT Contour Brush especially when I'm in a hurry coz it does the job faster.  However, I realized that using a smaller blending brush like this can maximize the tiny amount of concealer you put on your under eyes.  Besides, we don't want to waste makeup, do we?

Spot-concealing also becomes a piece of cake with this brush.

Like I said, this baby doesn't stop at blending concealer.  I love using it to apply a wash of color on my eyelids or pretty much, applying any eyeshadow.  Not only that, if I want a more defined nose line and to set the under eyes, I can surely rely on this brush.  You can even apply highlighter with this one and the list goes on.

The price of A-List brushes ranges between 150 to 220 php.

Pro Beauty Exclusives Powder Fan Brush (240 php)

If you need a wider range of selection when it comes to makeup tools, then opt for this brand.  They offer more than just brushes including lashes and other stuff needed by the pros.

A fan brush for me is not a must-have but it can totally help you with highlighting and baking.  There are a couple of brushes you can substitute this with like you know, any small to medium-sized buffing brush.  So if you want to spend money on something else, you can definitely do so.

What I like about this brush though is that, it makes highlighting more satisfying.  Haha!  Isn't it weird?  😉

The size is perfect because I can really work on making my cheekbones pop and it doesn't scatter the highlighter all over the place.

So here's an everyday look I created using these brushes (with the help of few other ones, of course).  😃

All 3 of them are in good quality.  No shedding so far and the ferrule is nicely secured.

Maybe next time I'd get at least one of those spoon-looking brushes and I think I also need a larger eyeshadow blending brush.  Any suggestion?

Yay!  We're down to the last BB cream so that means, coming up next is the comparison.  As you might already know, I'm planning on doing a throwdown series wherein I'll feature a bunch of similar products and rank them based on my preferences.

Let me know what I should try next!  How about Korean BB creams or affordable drugstore foundations?

So last but not the least, here's Super Cover BB Cream by Maybelline.

They're not kidding when they labeled this as "Super Cover".  It indeed has medium to high coverage, almost foundation-ish.  A tiny amount goes a long way especially if you want only a sheer base to even out the skin tone.

It conceals pores very well and I find that whenever I use this, it would not require so much concealer to cover other imperfections.

If you wanna see this baby in action, click here to watch my makeup video.

Even if I prefer light coverage for BB creams for everyday use, I'm still enjoying this one since applying a thin layer would do the trick.

A full application or two layers could give you that it's-like-I'm-wearing-a-mask feeling, so I suggest to sheer it out a bit by using a sponge or brush or by not using a heavy powder to set it.

It has this strong scent and it takes a couple of minutes to fade.  It's a nice fragrance but still, it's slightly annoying.

I also think I should have gone for the next shade - Medium.  Natural looks really light and I'm not feeling that extra bright, almost like a white mask effect.

This retails at 399 php.  Not bad for a high-coverage with sun protection, multi-purpose makeup base.  😉

Even if it could feel a little bit heavy for my kind of everyday makeup look, I still find myself grabbing it often.  I'm enjoying the smooth and demi-matte finish without the icky feel and it's also a nice sub for foundation because of the coverage.  Plus, it still looks fine once sweat and oil start to have a party on my face.  Haha!  😄

I'm not yet done convincing myself that February was over and now, we're almost halfway through March.  Ugh.  Feeling a bit pressured because of my monthly goals.  I wasn't able to complete last month's so I'm trying to catch up.  I'm still feeling positive though.  I know I got this.

Anyhoo, here's the skincare edition of the recent Batch Review I did.  This post only includes three products but I think I got a lot to say about each because I'm enjoying them all.

Do you like the color coordination here?  I've only realized it now.  😉

Tony Moly Clean Dew Red Grapefruit Foam Cleanser (150++ php)

This facial wash removes dirt and makeup really well but it's mild enough and doesn't strip away all moisture from the skin.  It has a refreshing citrusy scent and I could also feel a very few tiny particles in it as I massage my face.

It comes in 180 ml tube and for a cleanser that's not over 200 php, I think it's a good buy.  Although, people with dry skin should look for something even gentler and more hydrating than this.

There's also a Blueberry and Lemon version of this and they offer another benefits.  Actually, it's common for Korean brands to feature fruits, veggies and all other natural stuff as the key ingredient for facial cleansers just like what they do for mask sheets.

Skin Station Dermax Professional Jeju Aloe Peeling Gel

Okay, the term "peeling gel" might sound terrifying but no, this doesn't peel anything.  Haha!  😃

When I first used it, it instantly reminded me of Cure.  You know, the best-selling Japanese exoliator gel.  It works exactly the same.  You rub it thoroughly then you'd get "dead skin cells" or those eraser crumb-looking things.  It's kinda amusing, really.

Although, main difference is that, this one is meant for the body, not for le face.

I haven't really used it on my elbows and knees, just on the heels (one time) and on the pits - coz you know, they need to have an exfoliation moment too. 😃

It contains Papaya Enzyme and Vitamin C that promotes skin whitening, Retinol, Licorice Extract and of course, Jeju Aloe Vera extract for that intense hydration.

To really make sure if those eraser crumbs are actual dead skin cells that got removed, I rubbed it on a glass surface.  I didn't get any crumbs so that means, those are only appearing if the product is used on human skin and it's not produced by the product itself. 😉

Quick FX Pimple Eraser (129 php)

Looking for something that can immediately dry out your flaming red zits?  Try this.

It has all other good stuff like Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Zinc Oxide, Vitamin C and Niacinamide that can help treat annoying pimples once they're popped.  This also comes in sachets but the tube costs only 129 php so either wouldn't hurt.

I only apply this in the evening time because it dries to a chalky white mess.  So as long as I don't need to go out, then no problem but otherwise, I would go for Celeteque Spot Corrector Gel.

On healing and lightening pimple spots, I'm still not sure if it's effective, though I haven't really used it for that purpose.  I don't use this as a post-pimple kind of treatment.

The two huge zits I got left a mark but it's slowly fading, which I'm super happy about.

So that's it!  If I were to choose my favorite from this bunch, I'd go for the Pimple Eraser because it simply works and it's affordable.

What do you think?  Have you tried any of these?

This weekend has been nothing but amazing.  Tiring?  Sure.  But I would rather sacrifice sleep than skipping a precious chance like this one.  I wouldn't trade for the world those quiet, relaxing, new fun adventures and let's-forget-about-the-world moments with Kris.  Ayiee... 😍

So we went to Tagaytay for a quick eat-and-play kind of bonding before heading to the duathlon at Eagle Ridge, Cavite.  We almost had zero sleep because we had to arrive at the venue at 3:30 in the morning.  The race started at 6 and I actually thought, I would just be in the car waiting until it's almost over but no, I enjoyed being a spectator.  Haha!  😊

My lids are feeling so heavy right now but I think I still have some energy left to squeeze in a blogpost.

Okaaay, let's do this!

So here's another BB cream from the bunch that I'm trying out.  It's from L.A. Girl and it's named kinda similar with their famous concealer.

I got the shade Light/Medium which is pretty much the same color as my skin tone.  This retails at 349 php for a 30ml tube.

Since we're already on the packaging, let me just quickly mention that even though there's no pump, it doesn't cause mess and the amount of product to take out is very easy to control.

Formula-wise, I would say that it has a nice subtle scent, a not-so watery consistency and it's not sticky.  It doesn't feel heavy when applied and putting 2 layers on would not look cakey.

One layer could look sheer but it can still cover pores pretty nicely and can even out the skin tone as well.

Also, I love how it sets into a nice demi-matte finish and how it makes the skin look smoother.

I could still get an oily t-zone after a couple of hours with this BB cream on, but it doesn't create a crazier grease so that's good enough.  Expect normal touch-ups though.

Overall, I'm liking it mainly because of the beautiful finish and ultra lightweight formula.  It's a nice everyday BB cream, but I wish it had more of that coverage I could get from their HD concealer.  That could have made this even better.
