I finally got my hands on The Ordinary goodies! 😙

There's really something about the brand that made me want to try the products out aside from their price point, of course.  Maybe it is the simplicity from the packaging to the formula.  I think it's also perfect for those who are already familiar with the right ingredients for their skin concerns/type.

As a niacinamide user (using Luxe Organix), I picked their 10% + 1% zinc.  I also threw in their primer and moisturizer to my cart because both are under $10.  By the way, I bought from Sephora US site and had them shipped to PH.

However, there are lots of local resellers on Shopee and I think SM Beauty also sells a few of The Ordinary products.

The niacinamide one is okay.  I actually can't tell the difference between this and the one from Luxe Organix (both the 2% and 10% variants).  So if you need this formula, either one of them works.  Get whichever is available.

The High-Adherence Silicone Primer is not the best blurring/long-lasting primer out there, but the good thing is, it is alcohol-free and oil-free.  I only use it as a light hydrator because I don't like the moisturizer.

The Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA is also alcohol-free and oil-free but it's just too heavy for me.  I don't like layering my oily skin with cream moisturizers.

Overall, I think there are other good alternatives in the drugstore that are also affordable and with the same key ingredients.  However, if these products are easily accessible to you, go ahead and try some.  Other well-rated products from The Ordinary are Glycolic Acid, Peeling Solution and Hyaluronic Acid.

Check out my Tiktok video to see these in action. 😉

Oh yes.  We're back to posting once a month.  Hahaha!  😅

Actually, I'm just trying to keep le blog alive.  Looking back, it felt like a task that I needed to do but of course, enjoying it at the same time.  Now, I have that "whenever you feel like doing it" kind of mood.  I can assure you though that no one's stopping.  Pausing?  Yes, I got a lot of that as you might have noticed in the past few years.  But never quitting. 😉

So here's another set of products I've been trying.  These are the first ones I've tested out from Vice Cosmetics as well.

I got the Aura Cheek Collection which contains a blush, a highlighter and a contour all in powder formula.  The set was on sale too - from 395 to 275 php!

I also grabbed two brushes to use the trio with and they cost 175 php each.  They are both dense brushes and in very nice quality because they have not shed a strand after several months of use.

Aside from using them for the mentioned purpose, I also like applying face/setting powder with them.

Now, the cheek collection.

Porshur is not too orangey for a warm contour.  It doesn't load too much pigment which I like because I prefer building the color for bronzers or contours.

Shimmering is a subtle champagne-tone highlighter.  It looks glittery in person but it looks so pretty in photos/videos.  It is a highlighter that does not blind but I still love how it gives an iridescent, candle-lit glow.

Applauded is a mauve matte blush.  It's easy to blend too and has a better texture than the contour blush.

Here's how the three look powder babies look like under cool lighting.

Here's under warm lighting.

I also made a video on Tiktok (@ichipestano).  Check it out here!

What do you think?  Anything else from Vice Cosmetics you could recommend?

Another lipstick went to my list of favorites.  This is not a recent release, but I'd recommend this to others looking for something new to try from the drugstore.

I got a bit confused the first time I tried it.  I didn't expect that for a liquid lipstick-looking product, the formula is like a lip tint.

Color

I Lead
is a pretty coral while I Play is burgundy, which you can wear either diffused or full.

Formula & Finish

Although the name says "matte", it leaves a shiny finish and takes a while to fully dry.  I think it is supposed to be wiped/blotted just so it stains the lips.

I love how lightweight and silky it is.  Even if you put 2nd or 3rd layer, you won't feel anything on the lips.  No stickiness too.

Application

The pointy doe-foot helps with a neat application and re-applying is a breeze because of the formula.

Lasting Power

The stain lasts for several hours but fades after a meal.  It's a bit of a problem for I Play though.  Since it's a dark color, it does not fade nicely.  That's why I prefer a very light application with it for a diffused lip color effect.

I want to get another MLBB shade.  For those who have tried it, what color do you recommend?

One surprising thing I realized after organizing my makeup collection is that I accumulated more new stuff despite the pandemic when my usage became less often compared to normal times.  What happened?!  Hahaha!  😅

However, it still didn't change the fact that I post about new makeup way late - like months after the release.  Here's one.

I have two of BLK's lipsticks from their Universal collection.  Loving both! 💕

Airy Matte Tint (379 php) is a lightweight liquid lipstick that dries down to a matte finish.  It does not have a thick formula but still very pigmented.  I love the melon scent and how comfortable it is to wear. Also when it dries, it does not become too cracky.

I got Bare Nude which is a muted pink shade.  It's an MLBB color.

Lip Switch Matte Lippie is basically BLK's signature matte lipsticks in a twist-and-switch tube and in wearable colors.  The full thing costs 349 php and the refills are at 279 each.  You can also use the refill without the case.  It comes with a clear cap.

The formula is also lightweight for a matte lippie and the color payoff is very opaque even with one swipe.  One minor trouble though when applying because the round shape does not help too much in filling up the lips.  It gets messy sometimes and there's a bit of tugging too.

I picked Brown Sugar which is a 90's brown shade.  You can also dab it lightly for a diffused effect.

Which one would you consider getting?

By the way, I posted a lip swatch video on Tiktok!  Check it out here.  @ichipestano

After trying one last year, I immediately grabbed the other two shades because I was so amazed by the formula.  I was not a big fan of cream blushes because some are usually hard to blend evenly like cheek/lip tints.  So I thought, why bother buying if I can apply a cheek color with ease using powder blushes.

Then, these Multi Pots from Careline changed my mind.

I made a video on Tiktok swatching these babies.  Check it out here.

Each pot weighs 2.2g and costs 200 php.  I got mine for less during a promotion.

I have used and abused them.  I bet you can tell by looking at the photo above.  Even though I use them so often, I haven't hit the pan yet.  They are pigmented and on the cheeks, you wouldn't need too much.

As the name says, it's a multi-use product so you can use it as an eyeshadow, blush or lip color.  I'm enjoying them on my cheeks and lips except Abracadabra (not loving it as lip tint).

on natural lighting

Abracadabra is a berry red but I like to call it "itlog na pula" color.  😜

Head over heels is a flattering burnt red.  My favorite on cheeks and lips. ❤️

Magic spell is a tomato red.  Perfect for sun-kissed look.

on ring light

The formula seems to have wax or oil in it - super easy to blend.  It gives a velvet finish too.  You can be light-handed when blending it.  Your foundation won't move if you dab lightly.  However, I think it's better to apply underneath powder to set it if you have oily skin.

It doesn't last all day on my oily skin but that's ok because I can reapply just as nicely as the first time.  On the lips, it leaves stain.

I think every brand has a cream blush in pots and I haven't tried any aside from Careline's.  For now, I can't compare but I can say Multi Pot is pretty good and for its price, having one won't hurt.

What brand should I try next?

For those who cannot afford Dyson or not willing to spend almost 50,000 pesos for a cordless vacuum (like me), here's one good alternative you can try.  It's from a brand called Deerma and you can order on Shopee.  Super fast shipping too!

We also bought their chargeable lint remover, but not super impressed.  😊

For only 3,500 pesos, it does the job.  My favorite part is how it gets rid of the hair on the floor (hair fall problem).  It's a big help also for the car.

Link is in the video description!

What do you think?  Would you consider this affordable option?

I liked 'em.  I bought 'em again.  ❤️

Here are my recommended products you can find in Watsons.  I've been using them for months now.  They just work so they deserve a re-purchase. 😉

I have oily skin so I always make sure that the key ingredients in a product I use are suitable and can really help combat the grease and clogged pores.  Most of these have salicylic acid (helps clear pores) and niacinamide (regulates sebum production and brightens dark spots).  For those with the same skin type as mine, you can try these too.

I also threw in 2 makeup products that I've re-purchased.

Luxe Organix 95% Aloe Vera & Snail Soothing Gel (229 php)
I'm using this on le bf's legs because it's super dry.  This makes his skin smoother and moisturized.  I'm also using this on my UA after shower thinking that it will prevent chicken skin.  This is actually our 3rd tub (it's in the fridge) then I got 1 sachet (in the bathroom for after-shower UA care 😙).

St. Ives Blemish Care Daily Facial Cleanser Tea Tree (349 php)

I prefer Tea Tree because Apricot has a strong fragrance and doesn't contain any of my fave active ingredients.  They slightly foam up and do cleanse well but you'd need a bit of help for waterproof makeup.  I might get Tea Tree again.

POND’S Glow Up InstaBright Illuminating Moisturizer Cream Golden Sunshine (179 php)

To try the other shade, I bought the sachet version.  I suggest using them as base and not on top of makeup because of the watery formula.

Luxe Organix Hydro Mist (229 php)
My 2nd spray was gifted to me (I put it in my wishlist).

Luxe Organix Niacinamide (Vit B3) Miracle Repair Serum (499 php)
If my The Ordinary serum doesn't come before I run out of this, I'll buy another bottle. ☺️
I think Luxe Organix released a 10% version of this.

Pond's Vitamin Micellar Water Nourishing Milk (109 php)
This is soooo good.  I'll buy the 400ml bottle next time. 👍🏼

Pond's Pure White Mineral Clay Mask (29 php)
Another oily skin must have - clay mask!  This could be very messy to rinse so better if you do it in the shower not over the sink.  Don't forget to always put the cap back because once it dries, it's impossible to take the product out.

Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift Mascara (399 php)
It's a bit difficult to wash off without residues though.

I also posted the video on Tiktok.  Yep, you can find me there too (@ichipestano)!  Should I do dance vids also?  Hahaha!  😉

Let's see if there will be another batch of empties and re-purchases in the coming months.  Please comment below if you're also using any of these.
