I was one of the chosen guests from the SM Parisian contest and was invited to the launch of the latest set of shoes created by the fashion icon Rajo Laurel.  SM Parisian, together with a few bloggers created an online contest weeks before the launch.  I just tweeted about my SM Parisian shoes, tagged them on the photo of me wearing a pair and luckily.... I got picked!  You can check my entry here and here.  I won an invite for two to the launch happened last Tuesday, September 25.  They also selected 3 winners of 2 pairs each from the Milanos collection.  WOW!

So, let's take a look at these gorgeous shoes!!

I love the Red Tao, Blue Kabuki and Beige Hanami!!!!  very modern and geisha-like!

Heelless shoes with an Asian feel... spell shoe architecture...HAHA! So creative!

Red Sakura is so lovely!!  Kahimi looks nice too... and very affordable for only 999.75! Shiny and glittery!

Now for the gentlemen!  I want Brown Gohan and Gray Daimos for Kris.  :P

Leather set!

The designs are Japanese inspired, very artistic.  I super love the names!  I was expecting a "MICHIKO" too!!!!  *wink  I can't wait to try and see if they're comfortable.

Check out this campaign ad.  Model is Jodi.  She's from UST too. :)

Too bad, I wasn't able to see the shoes personally at the launch since I left early.  I saw some celebrities like Jolina Magdangal, Bodie Cruz, Crystal Belo, Franco Laurel and bloggers Verna and Verniece Enciso.  A very nice experience, not my usual crowd though...HAHA! :)

Check out SM Parisian now and grab a pair.  They said that this is limited, but they have sizes up to 11 or 12.  Nice.

Visit SM Parisian's FB Page here for more updates.

What's your fave pair?

I thought milk tea stores were the only ones having blockbuster lines.  It's so surprising that a donut store has unimaginable long lines no matter what time of the day!

If it's just for curiosity, I doubt it.  Imagine, waiting for at least 40 minutes?????  Their donuts must be really really good.  So, I tried it....and I have only four words to say... "It's worth the wait."

J.CO is from Indonesia.  It's nice to have an Asian brand here that sells amazing donuts!  They have branches at SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall and Trinoma.  I don't know if there are new stores though.  The line is just so freaking long everytime I pass by J.CO.

They are making each donut by hand.  They will mass produce the base and put on the flavor one by one, but it's not the reason for the long queue.  It's just that people really prefer this now and forgot other donut stores....HAHA! :P

Let's take a look at some of their precious creations!

Their best seller.... ALCAPONE.  My favorite too!  It looks so simple, but very very very delicious!  This must have at least one slot in your box!

They have coffee, tea and some blended beverages too.  They also serve yogurt.  I will try this on my next visit.

Now, the price.  A donut costs 42 pesos.  It will be too expensive if you buy per piece.  The 2 dozen deal is the most sulit.  The price is 550, so that would be 23 pesos per donut!  Woah!  Half dozen is 230 and a dozen of these heaven sent donuts costs 350.  Not bad!

If the flavor you want is not yet available, they can make them for you.  You have to wait couple of minutes though.

See??!?! Yummy donuts!!!  What I love most about J.CO is the sweetness.  It's just right.  :)

Sorry for the pictures below... donuts must have been destroyed inside the box while in transit. :P

They have cool names for the donuts too!

Choconuttzy - has peanut butter taste

Blueberry More - i love the cream inside

Heaven Berry - not the usual strawberry jam.. it has cream inside

Green Tease - green tea flavored cream inside, this is Kris' fave

Tiramisu - My fave next to Alcapone!  I love the hint of coffee!

I can't wait to try other flavors!  They also have black forest, mango, avocado and many more!!

Visit their FB page here for more updates.  Yay!!! I love J.CO!! <3

What's your favorite J.CO Donut?

This is my first 'hair' post on MUAH.  Is that correct?  I don't actually do hair stuff like styling because my hands are not made for that. HAHA!

Few weeks ago, I was thinking of a perfect birthday gift for myself.  Last year, I celebrated it with friends and family by renting a mobile bar.  This time, I wanted to just pamper myself.  Solution.... hair makeover. :)

I didn't think twice when deciding what salon to visit and try.  Believe it or not, it's my first time to go to a salon like this to have my hair fixed.  Well, there was one time in Bench Fix.  I just asked them to curl and tie my hair.

I really wanted to try a Korean Hair Salon.  I've heard a lot of good feedback about Beauty Brick Hair Art Studio.  Not only about their owner and main stylist, Mr. Shin but also the service they provide.

Enough with the intro, let me share to you what happened in my dream hair makeover. :)  Warning, picture heavy.

Every staff was busy with the clients.  Weekends are the most hectic, from digiperm to hair color and hair cut.  I suggest you reserve a slot ahead of time.

The salon is very open and clean. White walls, red accents, wall paintings and vertical mirrors will welcome you.  You can feel that it's indeed a hair studio.

Waaa.. my braid made my hair curly. :)  We arrived late, but when we got in, we waited for a couple of minutes.

I colored my hair before so you can see some brown parts. :)

For hair coloring, they have samples of colored hair and pictures.

They use L'Oreal for their hair coloring products.  For my choice of shade, Mr. Shin combined two colors, a light brown and reddish brown.

At first, he was hesitant to do the color that I showed him because I colored my hair with dark brown.  That's the thing in coloring your hair, you can't really expect the actual and exact shade because every hair type and condition is different.  Well, we love surprises, right?  Try experimenting!  HAHA!

Time to color!  After mixing, they sectioned my hair and applied the mixture.  They told me to close my eyes for safety.  This took about 30-40 minutes.

If ever you're wondering, they didn't wash my hair anymore because I didn't apply anything on it like wax, etc.

Thanks to Kris for taking photos! :)

They applied the color all over my hair except the roots.  It's because that part absorbs color easily and quickly.

Next, they placed a hair cap and I sat under this alien-looking machine. :)  I waited for another 30 minutes.

They checked if the color's already visible from time to time.  Afterwards, they colored the roots for about 7 minutes.  Don't worry, they use timers. :)

Time to wash!!!  Oh and yea, free quick massage too!

Next, blow dry.

I promise... you won't get bored because staffs are very nice and accommodating.  Mr. Shin focuses more on hair cut and checkpoints in between hair treatments.

Yikes!  Picture with Mr. Shin... :)

A little background... he was originally from another Korean Salon then, ventured out to his own hair studio.  He's Korean, but speaks Japanese a lot because their translator, Deborah (I'm not sure of the name)  can understand that well instead of Korean.  He studied and took trainings at Japan too.  He's been living here in Manila for.. I think 9 years.

...and just one little trivia... he cuts and styles his own hair!  MASTER!!!

You can also ask them to curl your hair after.  The trim is included per hair treatment.

BEFORE

AFTER (next, autograph...chos!)

I really love how it turned out.  I was looking for a not so usual brown color with a hint of red.  It actually lightened after washing it the next few days.

Their hair color service starts at 2800 pesos.  This includes everything up to trimming and styling.  Definitely worth my money.  No regrets.

With Beauty Brick, you don't need to worry about your 'BEFORE and AFTER' looks.  Mr. Shin will make sure that you achieve the look that you really want.  Again, it all depends on your hair condition and type.  Plus, you'll enjoy every minute of it.

Beauty Brick is located at Unit 103 Doña Consolacion Bldg., 122 Jupiter St., Bel-Air, Makati City. Visit their FB Page here for the contact numbers.

Cheers for the great service.  See you on my next visit!  I can't wait for a much longer hair, so I can try digiperm!  Yay!

Banapple again!! Yay!  This dish is probably my favorite of all entrees they serve.  Luckily, we were able to visit their branch at Il Terrazzo, Tomas Morato.

Okay, let's start!  Kris ordered this sandwich because he avoids rice now...HAHA!  It comes with some potato chips.

140 pesos

This is their best seller sandwich.  It has crispy and juicy chicken breast fillet and paired with pan-fried bell peppers and sliced onions.  It's stuffed with fresh lettuce and melted cheese and drizzled with garlic herb mayo.

I didn't try it because of the mayo.  Yep, I don't like mayo, but I can imagine the flavor of bell peppers.  Kris enjoyed it but there's nothing special and surprising about this sandwich.

Crunchy Chicken Fillet & Bell Peppers Sandwich

Next, my favorite...

185 pesos

The taste is similar to Cordon Bleu.  Can someone teach me how to create white sauce??  :)  Even if it's super creamy plus the cheese inside, you won't lose your appetite.  It perfectly matches the garlic rice.  This is definitely my number 1 Banapple entree.

Herbed Chicken Rolls with Basil Cream Sauce

It's made of herb-crusted chicken breast and stuffed with cheese and ham strips.  It's smothered with rich basil white sauce and served with garlic rice and glazed butter carrots.

I heard that Banapple will open a branch at Mckinley Hill.  I can't wait!!! :)

You can visit their FB Page and website for more information and for their complete menu.

Eyebag within an eyebag.  Puffy eyes.  Visible lines around the eyes.  We all hate 'em! BUT!!!!... Thanks to whoever invented the concealer.  It's heaven sent and that's a makeup product that will never ever leave my bag!

I've been waiting for this product to become available here in the Philippines.  Couldn't wait any longer so I asked my Tita to buy me one from US.  I've been reading a lot of amazing reviews about it and saw its rating on some makeup forum sites.

I've been using this for weeks, as you can see, it's half empty already.  So, let me share to you my experience using this concealer from Maybelline... one of my fave brands. :)

It's called Instant Age Rewind and it comes in a tube case with a sponge applicator.  Hmmmm...names kinda offending?!  HAHAH.. Well, let's admit it.  Dark circles??? It's a sign of aging too!

Thumbs up for the content.  I mean not all liquid concealers come in this size.  I used some and they lasted for about 2 months.

At first look, I was a bit skeptical about the packaging and applicator.  I needed to twist it a few times... several the first time I used it.  But I love it because it's a handy tube.  The cap is not easy to be removed as well, so no need to worry about losing it.  They said that the sponge has a special anti-microbial system.  No need to wash or even wet it.  They suggest to clean it with tissue instead.

This is the lightest shade, Fair Claire.  At first, I had troubles blending it.  I recommend this for normal to oily skin because it has a tendency to 'cake' for dry skin type.  Sometimes, it settles into fine lines.

The most remarkable thing about this concealer...... the coverage.  I think that's the number one in your checklist if you're looking for a concealer.  Another one.... it somehow highlights too!

I think it would be best if you blend it using your fingers, not a brush.  In that way, it will warm up a bit and that would allow you to blend it smoothly and evenly.

Maybe I can just breakdown everything....

What I love about it:
  • Packaging (very handy)
  • Applicator (so soft)
  • Content
  • Good for oily skin (it's hard to find a product that suits oily skin)
  • Coverage
  • Can be a highlighter too (don't apply too much)
  • Can last all day
  • Not messy to apply

What I don't love about it:
  • Not available here in the Philippines
  • A bit expensive
  • Can be cakey
  • Can settle to fine lines

Rating: 8/12 stars

It can be your perfect concealer.  It does all the work to keep you looking fresh and awake all day. :)

What do you think?

*Thanks Nikki for the camera! :)  Whew!  Awesome lens!
