Here's my current toner.  And yes, Neutrogena is on my blog again.  Is it your drugstore favorite too?  Anyway, let me share a quick review.

So, why did I pick this?  Actually, not sure.  I was looking for a "temporary toner" because the one I really want which is Skinfood's Steam Milk Essence Mist was no longer on sale that time.  I bought this at 339.75 php.  Not bad right?  It's 200 ml already.

It's basically a toner that targets blackheads and minimizes pores.  Some of the labels are in Chinese so I can't explain it for you.  HAHA!

This one is a member of the Deep Clean line.  There's also a facial oil cleanser, facial scrub and more.

The bottle looks nice and very "Neutrogena".  I haven't experienced any spills as well, so it's safe to bring anywhere.

The product description also states that it can help prevent new blackheads from forming.  The formula is called BHA.  It removes dead skin cells and also controls excessive oil.

This toner is oil-free and contains salicylic acid (0.5%) and benzoic acid too - good for acne treatment.

What I love about it:

  • Removes makeup residues
  • Cleanses well
  • Leaves a cooling sensation right away
  • Doesn't leave a "botox-tight" feeling
  • Not drying
  • Targets pores and blackheads
  • Affordable
  • Dries fast
  • Cleanses well
  • Suitable for oily skin
  • No breakouts/irritation

Watch-outs:

  • Might irritate the eyes
  • Scent is a bit strong (like alcohol)
  • I can't feel the oil-control properties
I did not use a makeup remover here.

In terms of pore size and blackheads removal, I can't still say that it's 100% effective.  It's hard to tell, really.

Overall, I think this one's a nice drugstore toner to try.  Maybe when the weather here in Manila gets better, it would be more effective. :)

Receiving a gift is exciting.  But receiving a gift when you least expect it?  Man, it's awesomesauce!  I'm not even talking about a typical present here.  This one means a lot because it's something I don't usually get and basically, it's for my #poochoopoochoo blog.  HAHA!

Nuff said, here's what I got from iWhite the 3rd time around!

It shocked me when I saw the mystery box.  I had an idea that it's from iWhite but little did I expect that they'd sent me each piece of all of their products.  Woah.  Thank you soooooo much!

I've already tried everything even before I started blogging.  Well, except for the cream.  Oh yes, I'm a fan.  HAHA!

There are 2 things that surprised me the most.  One, all of these iWhite babies are in their new packaging.  I love the design, definitely a standout in store counters.  #goodjob  Two, there's an unfamiliar bottle containing a sticky liquid.  It's called Purifying Essence and it's used to prep the pores before applying the nose pack.

Look at mah favorite blackhead killer!  Looking good!

Here's the rest of the goodies.  I now have a summer skin care set - complete from facial wash to whitening mask.

I've already tried doing a mini facial at home using some of these products.  I'll tell you more about the mask and essence in my upcoming posts.

You can find iWhite in our local convenience stores and drugstores.  Go and try this brand!  It doesn't cost much and works great too.

Thank you again, iWhite!

I totally forgot about this!  WTH!  This is what I wore in a wedding I attended 2 months ago.  Actually, I already shared the posts for the hair and makeup here and here.

Anyway, do you like this cotton candy dress too?  As a matter of fact, it's a very simple piece - spaghetti straps and flared like a skater skirt.  I decided to highlight it's simplicity and natural beauty so I said no to too much accessories.  No belt, no necklace.  Just this eye-catching, extra-long pair of earrings.

What do you think?

A few skin care products and a new lippie for today's post...

I'm trying out a new toner and I chose Neutrogena this time.  The insane heat makes my pores go wild.  Argh!  I hate it.  That's why I looked for something that would help clean and unclog them.

For sure you noticed a people's fave on the above photo.  Yep, that's St. Ives Apricot Scrub.  Classic.  I picked the smaller tube so I could try it out without spending more money right away. The size is travel-friendly too.

I'd like to pamper my skin because I noticed that it's not in it's best condition.  It's getting oilier and ickier.  Gah.  I don't want to suffer any longer so, I bought a mask sheet.  Time for my good ol' facial routine!

It's my first time to try a product by Nature Republic.  Hopefully, it would rejuvenate my beaten skin.

Lastly, new Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick from Mami Joy straight from the US.  Thank youuuuu!  Stay tuned for the separate post if you want to see the color.  HAHA!

I missed doing the quickie update portion.  Here it is.

I won't be surprised if every makeup junkie in the world knows the most successful Youtube beauty guru, Michelle Phan.  I'm a fan too and I'm saying this loud and proud!  Even the boyfriend likes her.  Everytime we watch how Mish (wow close) transforms herself in her videos, we can't help but be amazed.

Last year, she launched her very own makeup line.  I'm so happy for her.  It's definitely a milestone in her career.  What makes EM Cosmetics special is the fact that it's inspired by women all over the world.  I can't imagine how much effort it takes to build a brand like this.

Ever since I heard about EM, I really looked for ways on how I could get the products.  International shipping and payment was not allowed until early this year.  I felt a little frustrated.  We have relatives in the US, but I'm shy to ask.  Luckily, I discovered an online shop last year and it's a perfect timing because I placed my order during the Thanksgiving sale.  Yay!

I'll get straight to the point and show you what I bought.

I got 2 lippies.  One in matte and another in classic silky.

I decided to sell Love Me, not because I hate it (no pun intended HAHA!).  It's just that, I picked another red shade and I do not want dupes and almost dupes in my stash.

 Packaging

It's housed in this very chic box.  The labels are there and all the things you need to know about your baby.

The tube is not made of plastic.  You can easily tell that it's durable.  When you close it, there's a reassuring clicking sound.

It's also a nice knowing that the bullet doesn't hit the cover.

Beautiful shades!  Love Me is the red one right there.  So that means, this post is for Passion Berry.

The photos on their website are a bit deceiving.  They don't show their actual colors.  Take this as an example.  It's somehow displeasing because I thought I got a coral shade.  But then again, I'm still not 100% sure because I didn't swatch it.  Sometimes, you'll never be sure of the color unless you apply it on your lips.

That's the same for Passion Berry.

I'm attracted to berry shades.  Lipsticks with a hint of purple, dark or light - I love them all!  That's why I picked this vampy fella.

Color

As I've said, you can't trust the store photos.  They made this one look like a perfect "plum", but I think it's not true.

Nevertheless, it looks gorgeous.  You can build up the color anyway if you really like a darker shade.  When you're in the mood for a no-eye-makeup look, this is your best choice aside from the classic red lips ,of course.  It brightens up the face instantly and it suits any skin color.

Finish

Velvety matte.  It doesn't look dry at all.  I love it.

Application

It's very forgiving.  No need to drag it on your lips.  Though because of the size, it's not that easy to control.  If your lips are fuller, then that's not a problem.

Texture

Soft and moisturizing.  I even like the scent (and taste)!

Longetivity

It can survive 6-8 hours without drinking or eating.  It doesn't transfer easily on tissues or cups.  #clingy

EM did a great job of coming up with the formula.  Doesn't feel heavy, matte and creamy at the same time.

Even though it's not the dark-purple I expected, I still fell in love.

I've used it many times already.  Have you checked out my recent Beauty Board post?

As for the price, I saw a lot of comments telling it's not reasonable.  Not only for the lippies, but all EM products.  So, they made it a little lower recently.  If I remember correctly, this one was at 16.50 USD.  Now, you can buy one at 15 bucks - exclusive of tax.

Overall, I recommend trying out their lipsticks especially matte ones.  They are all highly pigmented and texture is amaze-balls.

I'd love to get more actually, but Korean lip tints are in the top of my list as of now.

EM is also known for their Life Palettes and they also sell brushes now.  Good news is that, we can buy those for you!  Contact us here for price inquiry.

What do you think?

Check out their website to know more about their products.
