Congo Grille is just one of the usual food spots serving mostly, Filipino dishes.....BUT... when it comes to sisig, theirs is not that usual.  :)

There's no big difference when it comes to the prices and the food selection.  We ate at Jupiter St. branch and I must say that it's a lot peaceful there. :)

75 php

Starting with their drinks, I had this refreshing watermelon shake.

65 php

They also serve bottomless iced tea which tasted like orange juice.

210 php

We tried Chicken in Pandan Leaves.  It tasted like normal chicken barbeque, but it's good enough.

205 php

Next, Sizzling Gambas.  I totally regretted ordering this dish.  Even fried shrimps would taste better.  :(  We asked the waiter to cancel it from our bill because we could not finish it and obviously, we're not happy about it.

175 php

Of course, I saved the best for last!  HAHA!  It's crunchy and very very delicious.  :)  I think there's chicharon in this dish.

Overall, Congo Grille will be my choice if I crave for sisig.  What about you?

It's less than 30 days before Christmas!!! Yay!!  Can't wait to be on vacation mode!!  Have you finished your xmas shopping list already???  Mine is still a bit... hmmm... let's say... clean... that's because I haven't crossed out at least half of it.  Tsk!  List is quite long... :( say hello to my Santa version.. I'm hoping that it will still fit in my budget. :P

Anyway, that Christmas intro is for this look.  Green is definitely one of the prominent colors in the Holiday season and it has to be close to emerald shade, bold and vibrant.  To complete the feeling... I matched it with gold.

Noticed the v-neck back?  I love clothes with this detail because since it won't look great having it on my front (#youknowwhatimean), let's just save it for my back.  HOHO!

What do you think?

I've been using Maybelline Clear Smooth face powder for some time now.  I actually bought twice already (check here).  I also tried Garnier before.  They're all nice, but I want something that is very light and sheer.

To try out a new brand, I chose L'Oreal.  Don't underestimate drugstore makeups!!  You can still find amazing and affordable products!

This is L'Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Powder in Natural Beige shade.  The original price is around 800, but it was on sale so I got it with 20% discount.  Yay!  Sometimes, you just have to wait when drugstore makeups go on sale.

This shade is the 4th one from the lightest.  I was actually worried when the sales lady suggested that it's the right one for me because I don't want my face powder to be too light, but she was indeed, correct.  HAHA!

The packaging is simple, a gray container which shows you the actual product.  It also comes with a round sponge which is placed in another compartment with a mirror.  It's very handy.  I just hope that it will not break easily.  The print on the lid tends to be erased, but no big deal really.

Coverage is light, but it's buildable.  I noticed that the powder itself is very fine and as the name says, it's super blendable.  You won't have any problems applying it using the sponge or a brush.

As mentioned, the effect when applied is sheer.  With that, you can re-apply it anytime you want and it will still not give you that heavy feeling.  It also gives a matte finish, perfect for oily skin.

When my skin gets a little bit greasy, it doesn't cake.  Love it!  It's very smooth when applied.

I'm not sure if you can see it from the photo.... I love how pigmented it is.  The consistency of the powder is similar to cornstarch.  It won't give you that shimmery or dewy look.

I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and I can say that so far, it doesn't clog my pores.  I will do repurchase, but it has to be on sale again!   HAHA!  This product is really effective, but a bit pricey.

True Match line of L'Oreal offers a wide selection of shade, but only some are available here in the Philippines, maybe just the basic ones to match a Filipina's complexion too.  :P

You can check out their FB page here for more updates.

I've been using contact lens since 2010.  I begged for a pair from my Ate and she gave it to me as a graduation gift.  The first lens that I used was Angel Gray.  I also bought a black circle lens in 15 mm diameter.  Next to that, Angel Brown.

Circle lens originated in Korea.  The major purpose of these is to make your iris appear larger.  This type of contact lens has been a hit mainly because of cosplays here in the Philippines.  I also call them Anime eyes.  :)  They have a variety of colors and effects even up to the creepiest ones.

We all know that Asian eyes are usually small.  Thus, using a lens like this is a big help for them....hey wait I'm an Asian too!  :P

I'll share 3 other contacts on my next posts.  First, let's check out Angel Brown.

This color/design is from the Angel series.  I love this set!!!!  The color is vivid and it has that black circle at the outer part. It also has small black lines which really stand out when worn.

Now, let me share to you the photos.

No contact lens - No flash

No contact lens - Natural light

No contact lens - With flash

No lens - Half shot

With lens - Half shot

See the difference?  By the way, I bought this online at Contact Lens Exchange for 17 USD.  It's on sale.  Original price is 20++ USD.  Shipping fee to Manila is quite expensive, 8++ USD plus, I had to pay 40 pesos to postal office in order to claim the parcel.  I  bought this December of last year, so it will expire soon.

If you can wait and the price looks okay to you, you can buy at this online shop.  Me?  I won't purchase there again because it took a month before I received my order.  Whew!  I think it came from Malaysia.  I'm not really sure if it's because of customs.

Anyway, back to the review..... more photos below.

With lens - With flash and with falsies... HAHA!  (Look!! my black hair!)

With lens - Side View - With flash

With lens - No flash

See the black outline?   It really looks good on photos.  This is 14 mm in diameter and with grade.  I won't use non-graded lenses just for the sake of photos or makeup. I have poor eyesight so I really need this when I don't feel like wearing my eyeglasses.

Take note that when choosing the lens color, check the natural color of your eyes first.  I have dark brown iris, almost close to black.  When I looked for a brown contact lens, I didn't hesitate to pick Angel Brown.

I usually just wear these for a maximum of 8 hours.  Our eyes need to breathe too!  Since, it's bigger than an ordinary lens, it covers your iris completely.  Thus, preventing air/oxygen to come in.

Circle lenses are comfortable to wear, but when it's too windy or cold, it starts to irritate my eyes.  That's why I don't usually wear them in the office.

Ichi with glasses looks okay too, right???? <3  I swear, I can't read anything if it's too small and too far.  Sometimes, I can't even recognize faces too.  Tsktsk...

Since I'll be doing another post on circle lenses, let me share to you tips on buying first.
  • Ask yourself if you really need it.  Most circle lenses last up to 1 year (like mine), but if you are not really comfy wearing these and you plan to just wear them once a month or so, then don't buy, just save your money.
  • Having them for cosmetic purposes is okay, not a problem.
  • Check your eye health first.  Consult an eye doctor for your eye grade or any other eye condition.
  • Check the natural color of your iris.  Choose the lens color that best suits you.  Remember, lenses are not like clothes or shoes.  You can't fit or try them on, so picking the right pair is a little tricky.
  • If you are having second thoughts about the store, don't buy from them.  Look for another one.  Check if they are a legit distributor/seller.  Buying from a shop outside the Philippines can be too expensive, but make sure you stay away from scammers if you intend to buy locally.  There are a lot of China versions... in short.. fake.
  • There is an anti-fake system/site wherein you can type in the unique code (can be found on the bottle) of your lens to check if it's legit.  Be 101% sure.
  • Also make sure you have budget for contact lens solution.
  • Check local optical stores first because they sell contact lens too.
Hope this helps.  Good luck in your contact lens shopping!  Let me know what you've picked. :)

Korean style fried chicken is embraced by us, Pinoys.  Yep, not only K-Pop and Koreanovelas.  :) When the first restaurant opened in Manila, it instantly became a big hit.  Just after a few weeks, branches are everywhere!  Even our local fast food chains are having their own version of this recipe.

Introducing.... 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken.  Why four?  It's owned by 4 people... 4 friends.  Catchy name, huh?

You can visit their branch at SM North EDSA which is located beside National Bookstore and above the food court.

I didn't see how it's made, but they said that they hand-paint the cooked chicken to put on the flavor.  And also, it's deep-fried twice.  That's a plus point because I hate it when I see some blood marks inside my chicken leg.  :P  Hey, I can't eat that!

I also love the ambiance of the place.  It's like eating in the streets of New York!  Graffiti everywhere (like in subways), roughly painted stone walls, street signs and hanging wires... I love everything!  It's also spacious.

Okay, let's check out the food.  Aside from chicken, they also have fries, calamari, shrimp and burgers.

Honestly, it's really difficult to distinguish the difference in terms of the taste compared to Bonchon.

This 2 pc. drumstick rice box meal costs 149 php.  Cheaper?  Not so much.  Larger?  Yes!  That includes a regular soda drink, red tea or green tea.  It's your choice!  You can also upsize it for just 10 php.  Noticed the rice?  I think that's soy garlic sauce.

For me, what makes this restaurant stand out is their unique presentation.  They serve meals in an aluminum container.  So cool!  Even their paper cups are designed to match the theme.

Green tea is better! :D

This one is a 6 pc. meal.  For only 229 php, you can enjoy crispy wings or drumettes with skinny fries or rice.  Again, this comes with a regular drink.

Here's the menu.

http://www.gimme4fingers.com/crispy/menu-philippines.html

Surely, we'll go back to 4 Fingers.  I wanna try Battered Shrimp and Crispy Calamari.  :)

Hopefully, they open more branches soon.  It's really the perfect place when you want a quick snack with your friends and loved ones.  Imagine....an exciting and different vibe plus delicious food.  :)

This is not a vintage dress, but for me, it looks like a piece that we can see in our grandmother's closet back in the days. Well, at least a similar one. :P

As I have shared before, mustard is one of my fave colors.  I'm not sure, but it somehow complements morena complexion.  I just picked my gold flats so that the dress will stand out more. To accentuate the whole look a bit, I put on black bangles too.

Noticed something????  I love how my hair color cooperates with the outfit!  HAHA! *wink
